In Hannibal's absence Mago led the Carthage army to an historic victory against the Ptolemaic agressors. Ptolemy survived the battle and was seen leading a hasty retreat back to Egypt.

The 2 games still to go involve me. Both are cagey affairs with i think about 7 turns played and only skirmish deaths and plenty of manoeuvring. Perhaps it would make sense if I and Morbio and I and Tiavals set up a 'window' to play many turns? If either/both of u agree, pm me and we can set up a day and time...

Unfortunately, I can't commit to any particular time, I play FoG and when I can. I usually make at least 1 move a day, so there shouldn't be a problem meeting the deadline.

By the skin of your Macedonian teeth! Revolt and civil war avoided. All eyes turn to the defence of Rome from the Carthagian assault..

The battle for Rome is now in full swing. It's about turn 15 and the main heavy foot troops have just engaged. The first 13 moves or so were jockying for position and skirmish wars. Carthage managed to claw back some of the Roman early numerical advantage (being 550 points vs 500) and almost got to parity before Rome made some ground leaving Carthage only a few BPs better than the start.
Then the HF clashed and things are in the balance, I expect the next few days will see one side or other the victors

The battle for Rome is over! Hannibal finally takes Rome after a monster battle. The dead litter the field and the victors, what's left of them, march triumphantly into Rome, whilst the senate flee and the Roman empire is thrown into disarray!

The Gods have punished us as a people for living a life of greed and power-seeking. What was once SPQR is now PR!*
The people of Rome have established a democracy - the world's only such. Those powers who similarly adopt the one true way of politics shall be considered friends. Those who do not: beware, for your people will rise against you and join us.
No more conquering armies from Rome - we have learned our lesson! Only righteous support for the people of all nations and empires who desire freedom from their oppressors!
*2 pts for anyone who knows why the Q comes out too.

Gday Jonah are we close to a start and so far this is turning into a great comp? Well done
Astrides does that mean Rome is now going down a diplomatic path? Surely not a trick is up your sleeve methinks

Indeed this must be true - for I am enjoying it despite losing all my games so far, and even worse at least partially due to a very poor dice run (not to deny some admittedly good play from my opponents and some mistakes from me).
Turk1964 wrote: Astrides [sic] does that mean Rome is now going down a diplomatic path? Surely not a trick is up your sleeve methinks

Unfortunately the
city of Rome is currently being barbarically looted by the savages from the South. The
state of Rome no longer exists. However, the PR is in ongoing diplomatic talks with the peoples of all lands - but not with corrupt governments whose sole purpose is to suppress their people.
Also as already stated, we will not send out conquering armies (but we feel it our duty of course to support the people in any land that attempts to throw off the shackles of oppression).

Ha! The Macedonian imperialists stand no chance against a force of the people - the Macedonian army will desert in droves when they see we offer freedom from oppression!

Errr.... I don't see the battle posted. Did you tick the password protected box?
Also, just in case you don't know, you will need to create the Roman army as a 600 point army (but only use 550 points), because if you create a 550 point army I won't be able to accept it with my 600 point army.
Personally, I don't see how anyone can withstand fighting an army led by a
war war leader
