OK, that's great chaps. Everyone is playing at the moment.
And if you have some spare time on your hands, can anyone come up with a good reason why the peasants seem to be doing worse in this second tournament even though the handicap is now 75/500?

My game vs TGM is drawing to it's close.
I am on 23/47 vs 37/41
BUT. I am fighting 3 disrupted pike units and a fragged unit and have reached TGM's camp. However I have 2 units in combat, that are steady but are on <50%, another unit that is disrupted and on <75% who is double teamed, 2 units that will be rear charged and a fragged unit all in combat. 2 of TGM's disrupted units has a gen in rear support. If I am unable to loot camp I can seem me losing 11+bps and if TGM can win the combats (prob a 50/50 chance) with his disrupted and fragged uni in combat, who know worst case scenario for me I think is that after TGM's turn the scores could be 34/47 vs 36/41. If he can steady his 2 disrupted units with his gen it could be very very close, he will most certainly have inflicted more casualties than me.

If we can try and finish all our matches by 30th April that will be good - and it will clear the decks for those of us who have entered the Temporary League. Thanks.

No. Our game has stalled. I sent him a Pm which he has picked up but no response as yet. Is anybody else playing davouthojo at the moment?

My game vs davo should end the next turn or the turn after that.
Speedy exchange of turns two days ago but nothing since then.
My game vs fedem has reached turn 16. Still some way to go.
I think we are both 13pts short of breaking...

On turn 5 with Chris, averaging a turn every 3 days! Although based on some other games that is pretty good. He must be very busy again.

hidde (Ordonnance France) 24/33
davouthojo (Medieval Danish) 45/43
From the start and for quite some time the dice were all over the place.
No odds could be trusted, shocking results for both sides.
Eventually some semblance of order were restored and the quality of the French wore the Danish militia down.

So there are just 4 games to be finished to complete the competition . . .
Chris versus Eric and Chris versus myself have started and are progressing very, very slowly - have the matches between Chris and TGM and Chris and Federico got underway at all?
I am going to set a strict deadline for completion at midnight 30th April - any unfinished games at this point will be subject to adjudication. The reason for this is to clear the decks for the Temporary League - Anders, Eric, Federico and Chris have all entered that tournament.
I think what these two handicapped Medieval events have shown is that there is a huge gap between the skill levels of the very top players and those who might be described as "good players" or "quite good players". And it seems roughly correct that a 1 point difference between players on the LOEG rating scale is equivalent to 25 points in the DAG in a 500pt battle (if you were playing a 400pt battle then the same difference in LOEG rating would produce a 20pt difference in the DAG).
We do not have time to run a tournament where the handicap is 100/500pts between players but if we did I think the peasants would start to win quite a few of the battles - although I think Eric would still be very hard to beat. I will open a new thread up about handicapping once this tournament is finished and players and tournament organisers can use the above scale if they want to.
Are there any other comments or suggestions that you would like to make?
