Excellent point! I will change that to entrenchment terrain type and fix that little loophole. Thanks.

I noticed in The Last Gasp and Russian Bear Unleashed that:
All AUX Engineers are pre-43' versions (US/British).
French Infantry is also "older" version.
Not sure if this is by design, but it's a bit odd since Infantry/HW are all 43' variants.
Other than that, been enjoying this campaign quite a bit so far.

That is definitely not be design and will be corrected. I thought I had trapped those annoying little things. Thanks, again, and I'm glad you're enjoying the campaign.

Does your Panzer Corps folder structure look something like this:

It might not have all the mods this one has but it must be Panzer Corps\[GME folder - yours might be called MODS]\Red Dawn campaign\normal Panzer Corps folder structure
Then, of course, go into the GME and enable the campaign mod.
LMK if this still doesn't work.

Hello,
I tried again, it works fine from the Allied side.
I shall playtest this campaign.
Greetings and congrats for this mod.
I have not seen it in the thread where all mods are gathered, is there a specific reason ?

The stickies at the top of this forum gather all the mods and other related stuff together - MP, single-player etc.

Barbarossa RD_GermanyW_briefing.pzbrf RD_GermanyW.pzscn RD_GermanyE 2000 RD_GermanyW_DV.pzbrf RD_GermanyE 1500 RD_GermanyW_MV.pzbrf RD_France 2500 RD_GermanyW_Loss.pzbrf
Much to my surprise when I wanted to check something in the Barbarossa campaign scenario... I was greeted with a massive allied attack on Germany!
Is this intended, or slipped by you somehow when editing the campaign.pzdat?

I must have been using it at some stage but didn't clear the line. Just as a general rule, though, I would remove the Red Dawn campaign.pzdat before using any other campaign. Just like I would with any custom campaign, really.
Barbarossa would have seemed like a bad idea very quickly!

Hi,
I played at Leutnant level, using beta 1.02.
1st Scenario
I played the very first scenario and got a loss but one more turn and I had won a TV.
Well designed.
Result: Loss
2nd scenario
A massive Russian attack against US troops, I love this scenario.
Scenario still under playtesting.
I playtest 3 campaigns in parallel so be patient but I shall finish it!
General comment: I love WW3 (only on computer of course), this is for me one of the best mod so far!

Glad you're enjoying it. I am in the process of a general revision, which will include the ability to create a core rather than accept my core for you, but that's along-term project. I would also like to add some scenarios and reduce the number of units on the map. In the meantime, enjoy! Cheers

Hi El Condoro,
My standpoint:
1. I like your CORE as you designed it, I would not change this.
2. Adding some scenarios: always a great idea. BTW why don't you let Patton use his "beloved "SS units to fight against Ivan ? In case of WW3 maybe the Allies would have been used the remnants of the Wehrmacht to stop the Soviet advance no ?
3. Reduce the nr of units: No, I love when the player has a lot of work to do before clicking on the button "next turn", the Red assault must be huge showing the massive power of the numerous Red Army as it existed in 1945 while the poor Americans and Brits were in very few numbers.

Did Patton ever have a soft spot for the SS? If he ever did he lost it after seeing Dachau. He doesn't go into a lot of detail in his memoir but enough to show his disgust. Perhaps elements of the Wehrmacht could be used as they are in Red Dawn now, but not the SS. The other changes will not be drastic but I definitely want to look at the Jail Break DV conditions again - they may be too hard. Cheers.

You really have to know the map to stand a chance in Jailbreak and even then it will be very hard, depending on your starting core composition. Could do with a higher turn limit.

Patton hated the Russians and was ready to use the Wehrmacht as the case may be...
It is true that Americans were so close to Prague and were prevented to go there due to Yalta agreements...
Allied were also closer to Berlin than Soviets and Stalin said to his troops they would march up to Paris...

Hope you enjoy. In the next little while I will be doing an overhaul of the campaign to incorporate more of the 1.04+ features. Cheers

Version 2.00 of Red Dawn has been completed and made available in the opening post of this thread.
Some of the changes:
- new units, including snow camo Germans at Nordwind, experimental aircraft (thanks Rezaf), infantry support units in M3 half-tracks and with Shermans, 'hold' units that will fight back and not leave their entrenched positions and more.
- the chance to capture and use German (American crews) equipment (the good stuff!) in your core.
- 2 new scenarios: Metz and Nordwind
- updated and improved AI scripting. It's still dumb but better!
I tested it on Colonel and it was a challenge in most scenarios. I have no idea what the higher levels will look like!
Hope you enjoy it.
Cheers

Thanks, El Condoro.
This will go now to the MODS sticky.
I'll try to play in the weekend.
BTW, the documentation is top notch. This set an example for all campaigns, IMO.
Evil Empire Strikes Back...
When I read that name, I've heard the Star Wars tune in my mind. I can't help it.
