Simon,

Here's the first BG of the Ostrogothic Army painted up:

The photos don't do the figures justice. I hope my paint job did the figures a modicum of justice as the figures are great.

This photo has a different background...

....and with a reflected instead of direct flash. Probably this is the closest as they appear to the naked eye (still learning to use my camera  ).

Thanks, berthier. These are really great little minis and fun to paint.

P.S. to Simon. All missing shields are now found and fixed in place, thanks.

Looking good Paul,

I find it amusing that in an Ostrgothic army the first thing you paint is Huns :D

If you like Huns then by Christmas we should have the full range of huns available. All breakwaist type, so, i think that I worked out you can get 36 possible variations of horse archers. Should be more than enough variety.

thanks

There's a reason they were first - no shields to be glued on, so they were ready to paint first.

If they were nice to paint - perhaps I could ask you to contribute a review on the website? sadly lacking with comment at the moment

A review has been submitted for the Hun single base figure.

I do like the Huns and will be building a Western Hun army (thanks to these figures), but don't forget there supposed to be some Early Byzantines!

With Italian Ostrogothic, Early Byzantine and Western Hun armies maybe that will convince pezhetairoi to go with his temptation to buy the Sassanids.

Hi Dru, I feel your pain. It’s only been this recently that I have has to put up my postage rates (by 2.5%) up until now I’d been losing out to posting to the US & Oz. Just to fill in a bit of background. I neither sculpt or cast the figures, so my profit margins are tiny. Lurkio is a one man show (+ sympathetic wife!). It’s not my primary income as is really just an ‘hobby business’. To that extent I just haven’t got the margin to afford the 30-40% trade discount that a distributor would like. Same applies to getting stock into a bricks and mortar store. I would really love to make move to enlarge to business and get more figures out there but the price hike that would follow would be punitive to sales. Lurkio is just over a year old, and in that time I have had large increases in both rubber and ‘white metal’ raw materials. Up until now I have absorbed those increases, but it is becoming increasingly hard. While overall profit is not mandatory for me, not losing money is!

I think an overseas distributor is a long way away for me at the moment

I'm sorry , not a great answer

thanks

Simon

I did write a review but I noticed it's not there. Did it get lost? I don't think I wrote to many things with cuss words....like "f....ing brilliant". :D

No it's me being remiss. it just in the pending section. I'm trying to upload the Hun pictures before I release the reviews... For figures you can't see.

Thanks Simon
