Instead of using Dosbox, have you tried Panzer General Forever? It has a remake of Panzer General and Allied General in a playable format for modern OS (works with XP, Vista, Win7). Plus it has two WWI campaigns that were created by the developer. The guys who worked on that project were the designers of Panzer Corps. If you want to play the old Panzer General games without the hassle of DOS emulation, just download PGF and give it a try.
Wow sir i thank you so much., I have been trying to find this game for a long time, bad enough i have Pista i mean Vista and a 64bit, theres alot of games i own from early to mid 2000's that dont work. thanks for this.

PGF is a nice find, but seems broken. I cannot win on the first polish scenario (after 7 tries). All the AI has to do is plop an arty piece in the main objective cities surrounded by AT guns, and you cannot get to them as there is no air power. Infantry just gets slaughtered by the arty every time you try to attack. I read several posts on the site that have experienced the AI spamming units around the cities as you attack, and I see this too. Maybe when the bugs are fixed...

An easy feature to add: Time when a save is made. At the moment you only display date but time would help a lot

Another more or less easy one would be save the choice of difficulty. I have tried one easier one but when I restarted the game and choose a campaign it was the default again. So just save the choice and use this save as the new default until I choose another difficult level would be great. Same for weather, ammo on this menu.
Just 2 little things I would like to add/change

Oh and another one. I'm not sure if that this is easy but it could be nice to be able to turn on/off randomized seeds for saved games

Actually, it is already possible to save your previous and preferred difficulty setting. You can do this by changing the default setting.

Would be nice between campaigns to have a large button to heal all your units at once, instead of one at a time. Just started France and two turns in realised both my core fighters were at 3 and 4 sp's., I somehow missed them when 'healing' everyone
Also, realise its likly not feasable as would be a large GUI upgrade, but would be nice to be able to purchase all your units at once while in battle, instead of buy one at a time, place, etc etc.

The special heros were already mentioned, they gave great flavor to pg2.
The current heros are fine, but some more variety + some special heros would greatly benefit the experience.
Just some examples:
Like the already mentioned recon leader, which gives recon movement to other units.
Or the logistics wizard, which saves fuel and ammo (as representation this leader may just increase the units fuel and ammo by eg 50%)
A pathfinder, increasing movement points.
Some leader with an unexplainable "6th sense", which makes his unit immune to ambushes.
A veteran, that greatly increases the prediction accuracy of the outcome, additionally to some other minor bonus.
Something like a MASH precursor, reducing own casualty prob. by eg 1/3.
The engineer giving pionier like abilities to other infantry units as well.
An artillery leader, that is especially good at suppression fire (eg 50% more suppression, but only kills as many strength as normal art)
The tac bomber tank hunter, giving 50% increase on attack while fighting hard or tracked targets.

i really miss a highscore board in the sp.... after a complete campaign i will see more than a text that Germany is proud of me i will see a new highscore .
and the otherway all my core units can be promoted... why now her general? in "real" life after big battles they got promotions and medals.... for the game i think you will get by accident f.e. get the first golden targets in 2 turns and i the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross ;o) like rommel or will get some prmotions from gernalmajor, gernalleutnant, gernal of the pancer corps up to gernalfeldmarschall or some other medals like, Panzer Badge, Gold Medal of Military Valor or some special medals from other countries like the italian "Colonial Order of the Star of Italycountrys"
what do you think about it?

Whilst the small green and red move/shoot icons are useful sometimes I don't want to scroll all over the map or click though the next units.
Can you add an icon to the unit card box in the unit list to indicate it can still move and or shoot?

I'd like to see names of towns/river not only hovering the mouse over it. I think it could be useful adding the possibility to enable/disable names with a button, is it possible?

You should be able to get unit details from the unit list. why do I have to click the unit in the list then right click on the tactical map...its an extra unrequired click.

Just a minor request in regards to the editor; I want to be able to close a file. I find it odd that I can 't do this right now, unless I've missed something and no....opening a new file is not what I had in mind.
iainmcneil wrote:No more icons please! If we show it then it needs to be on an existing icon, like a more decorative border for the core unit strength box if a hero is present.
Well said!

I agree

Excellent suggestion, it bothered me too today, not so much the lack of river names, but city names, they give the game more character, plus they're helpful in our orientation on the map. Before some people get upset about adding more to the map, we both suggested to make it
optional.

First of all: The obligatory compliments to the developers!
Everyone who wants to create an excellent remake of a brilliant classic game should take an intense look at Panzer Corps to learn how it needs to be done.
To cut a long story short: Panzer Corps is just marvellous!
I would very much like to see a content patch that includes the missing maps / scenarios from PG and adds them to the campaign(s):
Crete
Kharkov
Anvil
Cobra
Market Garden
It would also be nice if the north african branch of the campaign could be extended; in PG it only included 2 (North Africa & Middle East) - 3 (North Africa, El Alamein & Torch) maps, as far as i remember. The idea to combine the north africa - scenarios from Panzer General and Allied General (as mentioned here:
viewtopic.php?t=26371) does sound very promising to me.
