I applied for the beta test but have not heard anything back, not even an acknowledgement? Can anyone on the team tell me what is going on? cheers, Pete

I hope that those selected for this beta are allowed to forward copies of the beta rules to others to use. If not, it really restricts playtest.

For example we have 5 or 6 local players here and I am guessing that only 1 or 2 (Dan and Ethan?) got accepted into the beta. If they are not allowed to share out the rules then they can only playtest with each other.

From what was said earlier, I think that the intent of restricting the official participation is to keep input manageable. If so, then perhaps the restriction on official beta participants should be kept to those that are allowed to provide input to the beta forum. They would also be able to collect local obsservations as a whole and provide that input.

Of course it may be easier if the writers jsut went ahead and sent copies to all that registered for the beta and accepted the NDA. They could still restrict input and access to the beta forum to official testers.

Thanks,

Bill

Its not you and me Jacq, though they may want our opinion occassionally.

And I always give mine freely
Well you weren't in the list of registered potential beta testers that JD showed me. Jacques was.

However, the "rules" of the beta allow others to play with the official beta tester, just not to copy the (fingerprinted) document. So you can play with the light-horse-loving Daves (Ruddock & Redhead) at least.

I remember you poked me in the chest and told me to sign up. I'm very bad at following advice. Worse with orders.

Looks like I will have to bust you down from sergeant yet again.

Nevertheless, we would very much value your input. It has been useful in the past (Carthage nothwithstanding).

 IIRC it didn't. The problem being that I have never completely read the current rules. I read the bits that interested me and played games with people that knew them. Unlike other some rules they are in the main intuitive, so you never need to read them until you get stuck. Then hopefully someone else there has read that bit. If that someone is Dave Ruddock you know that bit needs to be read again!

OK In still have not received my copy but my provider had some problems some days ago and retablished the links today . I know from other mails that I lost some mails .

By the way my comment was for the fun . But I really like to test as many armies as I can and prefer funny armies . :P

Jacques, as far as I know you were one of the elect. If your post might be lost I would contact JD or Iain McNeil re getting another copy sent.

Like Richard said, I would think you need to contact JD if you haven't done so already.

Same for me.

I've sent an email to JD and response was that if I am logging in from the same account from which I sent the initial request, then I should have access. I only have one account, but I don't have access.

I'm playing in the Battlecry FOG tournament in Auckland on Feb 19/20, along with five other members of our gaming club. One of us was accepted as a playtester so we plan to use exactly the same armies from the tournament with the new rules, it should be a useful test.

Between us we have around twenty armies so we are set up for lots of fun for the next few months (years???) trying them out with version 2.0.

I play in lots of tournaments and my normal playing opponent is Tupi boy (a.k.a. Jason Williams). Happy to play test if you still need testers.
