Are we supposed to post our results? I lost one and won one at this point.

Yes, gudin. Please post all results in this thread the same as you would in a League game, i.e. player/army, BGs lost/Bgs for each side and specifying the result. A little commentary is also welcomed.

I cannot believe how badly the hellenistic spartans are doing...

I can well imagine that even superior hoplites aren't that good against pikes unless they can grab some terrain. I bet no one would object to you switching to Achaians or even Galatians in order to stay competitive.

For what it's worth, the Macedonian Invasion version of Galatians are the correct one for the Diadochi. They're contemporaneous with my Pyrrhic list and with Antigonas Gonatas establishing control of Macedonia. Looks like a reasonable list even without the ex-Seleucid scythe chariots ;-).

No, I think I can stay competitive. Armoured hoplites beat pikemen usually, but protected ones have a disadvantage that has been really punishing me. Also, Sparta's lack of lances (which Achaeans also have) has been tough to deal with, too, because the enemy cav can handily defeat my light spear cav.

Still, I'm going to win one of these games at some point... I am coming to the end of two games, one that has just been unbelievably horrible, where my units have a tough time winning even fighting skirmishers or mf from behind. The other game was good, though, with a race on my flank to gain the high ground (which I lost), and a face to face, flat-ground battle in the middle (which I won). Unfortunately I think I will lose that one too, as my flank was ruined with high losses.

Morbio/Carthage 50/66
Blathergut/Ptolemy 61/59

An interesting and tough challenge which saw the massed spears beat the massed pikes. The big factor was the terrain and Ptolemy's army's enthusasm to engage at the earliest opportunity. If they had avoided the swamps and the steep hills then a different result would surely have followed.

Thanks Blathergut for a fun game.

True, that was a good match. I wish I beat you to the terrain on that flank...

Ipsos Alliance (Deeter) 36/58
Ptolemaics (Blathergut) 59/59

A skirmish between rival Tarantines quickly escalated into a mass cavalry engagement in which the Alliance came out decidedly better, even sacking the enemy camp and all bubblettes therein. In the next phase, the Alliance rolled up the enemy phalanx for the flank. Good game, Mr. Gut.

Ipsos Alliance (Deeter) 35/58
Seleucids (kilroy) 59/54

The opposing cavalry clashed on the open ground on the Alliance army's left. By the time the Alliance lancers won this action, the Seleucid phalanx had evaporated! A good game with lots of drama.

Blathergut(Ptolemaic) - 59/59
Batesmotel(Pyrrhic) - 49/55

Blathergut sacrified lots of light troops early on to allow him to develop a strong attack against my right flank. Combined with the heroic poor Egyptian pikes on his right flank, this almost let him come back from around a 20 point deficit against Pyrrhus!
