Well, the game is pretty quiet at this time. Nothing major happening and Allies growing in strenght big time. IF i can withstand the 42 german offensive, i should be all right.

Your style of play is definitely very aggressive like Patton. Also, like Patton, I'm amazed by your lack of concern over losses. I have to say it's fun to watch someone play that way and thanks for the AAR.

I guess that you can ignore losses as Allied player, but dangerous to do this as Axis - unless you know that your offence (or defence) is going to be very effective. There are many situations in wargames where you have to decide on how to make this difficult balance.

Well, sometime it gets me into trouble for sure... But i have changed my style of play you probably noticed it with the game we just had together. I was on defense for most of the game with axis...

Problem is that after 1 or games against me, the other players starts to know the style so i have to adapt!

Offense is the best defense....i love max style of play and if you can master it.....devastating effect. Why did you give up your offense during winter? You figure giving up more resistance during Axis next summer offensive?

I gave up my offensive because i didnt feel i could gain anything form it Plaid withdrew most of the forces out of reach... No point in chasing ghosts. I will be busy building my double defensive line and we'll see what Plaid does. One thing is for sure, he will not break the Russian he didnt hurt my army really badly, so by 1943 i will be all over him.

Well, its now time to play this game out. Ive been building up for a long time now and almost surprised myself about not offensiving so much for a long period. That period is over for now.

I have somewhat of the same situation in my AAr, but it´s only 41. I just can´t help it, love to counter attack....In plaid AAr i posted that you would win in 43, but that was before winter, then you decided not to attack. That surprised me...Good luck anyway.

By the way, can you deny a certan member in a thread to make sure the opponent don´t read the AAr?

I wont win in 1943 unless he does a major error...

I understand that, and it is an honor thing not to read opponents AAr. But is there a way to make sure they can´t get in?

Do you mean that if he captures Maikorp and don´t have a harbour or city connected he does not get the oil?

i only mean that even if he gets maikop its has no strategic significance he wont get farther much

Well, as some of the experienced players must have seen up to this point, the war is strategically won for the allies. I am a long way from final victory, but the germans are effectively stopped for the most part on every front. Sure, they can get some local successes in Russia, but nothing more than bits and pieces that wont matter at all when the allied buildup is complete. Overall, one thing is sure, they wont get stronger.

The Russian army is in super shape, tanks are stronger than the german ones, airforces, while sustaining casualities, still holding, research at full capacity...

The allies are still building up, but the battle of the Atlantic will soon be over once i can cover the Atlantic with planes. We also started the strat bombing of germany last turn, and its only going to increase over time. The fighters in other frotns will have to be moved into that direction, thus easing my job in Italy and Russia.

In Italy, we reached a strategic stalemate. But the number of troops that plaid brought to the theater is in itself a major victory. I am pinning down major forces in the theater, forces that would have been useful for a real push against the Russians, one that never materialised in 1942.
