It was not made clear when I bought the product that the DAG could in fact only create armies bigger than about 600 pts for a handful of armies, and armies bigger than 900 pts for maybe 2-3. And even these armies are contrained by having to use artificially low unit caps created for much smaller armies. If they are not going to allow cap-free armies, they should fix the caps to allow us to use all of the armies in RoR before rolling out more army packs. (BTW, I actually prefer to have the lists "fixed" to cap-free armies (other than for campaign use), but assumed it would be more work to fix all the caps than to allow the option to remove them).

I don't play battles below 600 pts at all, and much prefer games in the 800-1000 pt range. If I'd known the severe constainsts on army selection for these army sizes, and that these issues wouldn't be resolved months later, I'm not sure if I'd bought the game. Not saying this should be the top issue to fix, but it has been quite a while now, and I think it is time to get this fixed!

"Who knows, maybe if 9000 more people post about it , maybe we will get it"

Ok that is operational and positive thinking. Now we have a goal to gather that much support :)

I wonder if the problem is that we say we want to customize DAG army list.

Ian, if we say that we want custom list that will go in the custom part of the mp like the scenario is more acceptable?

Point is that in scenario we can do any terrain and any army we want. But it is complicated. What we would like is a way to make scenario army (ie no restriction) without linking them to a specific scenario so we can use them when we want either on a custom map (like the army, a map without a scenario) or on a DAG map.

If you don't want to mix custom army and DAG army (I still son't see why) it would be possible. And people wanting to play DAG army angain custom, will simply do a custom army according to the DAG limitation, but not a DAG army.

I won't stop on this one.

When I first bought Field of Glory and then learned that DAG expansions would be made available I was very pleased. However, when I bought the first DAG expansion, Rise of Rome, I was dissapointed to learn that you could only generate armies that could be used in DAG random scenarios and not be able to use those DAG armies in the scenrio builder. How difficult would it be to program a way to allow DAG armies to be ported to and used in the Scenario Editor? Since all the images present in the DAG are also available in the Scenario Editor I don't see how this could be too big a problem.

Creating custom armies in DAG is like having your cake and eating it to. I would not deny a person that right. But there would have to be a safeguard to protect us people who are fine with the DAG armies as they can be created now from the people who wish to load up an army by customizing it for the sole purpose of winning at any cost. Thankfully I believe most players don 't feel that way. Unfortunatly some do.

I don't understand what you are saying. How could someone get an advantage by using a DAG generated army in a custom scenario?

I was referring to something about people modifing the DAG armies (changing thier abilitys creating units that did not exist etc.) not the creation of scenarios. Then again I could have misread something. Oh wait I recognize your name, I don't think you have ever agreed on anything I have posted

Brigz, I think Mesa was referring to my suggestion, I do wish to be able to create custom army list. Yours should not be a problem.

As for my suggestion, Mesa, I agree that any thing custom should (must) be tag as it and go to the custom battle of the multiplayer option and not the DAG. If this is the problem. I agree.

I hope it won't be very difficult to do, because without the option to load DAG armies in the scenario editor, creating scenarios is going to be difficult once a couple more expansions are released. The "images" drop down menu is already crowded and it requires a bit of patience to find a specific unit image.

While ideally there should be no unit limits in the DAG armies loaded from the scenario editor, I guess we can always remove the limits in the scenario editor using the delete and (future) "copy and paste" options.

Another nice additions for the scenario editor would be options to load and change the size (once loaded!) of a map.

Exactly. Thank you for clearifying what I wrote. :) Heck doesn't bother me if anyone creates a custom army ... I just don't want to find myself n a battle with one without advance knowledge so I cn decide if I wish to lose by the considerable amount I normally do or lose by an incredible embarrassing amount.
