The Nubians deployed in a long line of archers, spearmen and lurking lancers with a strong force of camels on their right.

The Egyptians deployed in the centre and left, immediately advancing in oblique line led by all the heavy infantry, the bulk of our lancers in reserve while a strong force of the lighter lancers looped around the rough on the left for an attempted envelopment.

The stronger Fatamid foot survived, well enough, the arrow storm and lancers and decisively won the centre with some help from the flanking lancers, while the Nubian camels harassed the Egyptian right.

The Nubians deployed in the centre around the enclosed fields and to the left, a mixture of spear supported by massed bowmen with a strong contingent of camels massed on the far left and the lancers and cavalry in reserve behind the foot.
The Fatamids immediately moved to contact the defenders in the centre and enclosed fields, clearing the fields rather easily. Meanwhile the Nubian centre mostly held while the foot and camels on the left shot up their opponents then turned on the Fatamid centre from flank and rear.

Thanks for the battle!! We both really suffered/enjoyed the furious charge of the Scots in the 2 battles.

Very even mirror match, but the Scots were superior. Able to stand up to dismounted men-at-arms long enough to bring their greater numbers to bear.

angusosborne (Berber) defeats Hari72 (Tuareg) 43-3

Our battlefield had a Large Stream running between our lines, a small hill in the centre on the Berber side of the river (but slightly closer to the Tuareg line) and enclosures and forests on both sides of the Berber deployment area, and a marsh on the Berber right straddling the Stream. I decided that capturing the hill was crucial and sent out men-at-arms and camel lancers to take it, while keeping archers and spearmen in the enclosures to protect both flanks.
The Tuareg embarked on two huge flanking manuevers with massed camels , which didn't really work. The one on the right didn't have quite enough space to get around, and the one one the left was strung out as I turned on the inside to face it. Meanwhile Almughavars and Veteran Spearmen broke the Tuareg infantry centre. Interesting battle.

angusosborne (Tuareg) defeats Hari72 (Berber) 42-17

Here I made an unsophisticated dash for the hill again with Camel lancers following it up with Tuareg foot. The Berbers countered on their right. We broke that attack quickly, apart from some light horse getting around that we never really dealt with. Then charged down the hill. This fight was really pretty even. I was left with three Fragmented units at the finish, but had enough luck to win. Thank you!

Thx sorry! I actually subconciously placed our game (Franks v. Vikings in medieval due to it being in the so called Dark Ages)... a nerd slip
