				Round 2: Battles

				by kronenblatt
				The battles
- anderarcos11 (Early Scots, no allies) against Garokan (Late Anglo-Saxons, no allies).

- Garokan (Welsh with Late Anglo-Saxons as allies) against Kroche (Welsh, no allies).

- kronenblatt (Late Anglo-Saxons, no allies) against anderarcos11 (Brythons, no allies).

- alexhstandish (Vikings with Late Anglo-Saxons as allies) against kronenblatt (Late Anglo-Saxons with Vikings as allies).

The setup
- Module: The Boiling Cauldron (that was downloaded from my Google Drive)

- Force Size: 1600 versus 1600 FP (Large)

- Map Type: North European Plain

=> Attackers set up battles
(About allies:
The attacker must use as allies the army list of a culture (other than that of the main army) if the number of controlled regions with that culture and adjacent to the attacking region is higher than the corresponding number of each other applicable culture (i.e., controlled and adjacent). The same applies to the defender, albeit with reference to the defending region instead. The attacker or defender will use no allies at all if there is no such sole culture (e.g., because of two or more cultures with the highest number of applicable regions). Hope that I got the army lists right... Let me know otherwise.

 )

				Round 3: attack declarations
				Posted: Wed Nov 27, 2024 6:51 am
				by kronenblatt
				Attack declaration order as follows (the player having the the best casualty difference in a battle in the previous round going first, etc.):
- kronenblatt +38 (November 29 at the latest)

- anderarcos11 +30 (November 30)

- Garokan +17 (December 1)

- alexhstandish -38 (December 2)

Attacks can be made from any controlled and non-attacked region (”attacking region”) upon any uncontrolled and adjacent region that is not already involved in any other attack this round (”defending region”), provided however that every player can be attacked only once in a round and in turn cannot attack the player that has already attacked him that round. Given this, if a player has no attack possibility in a round, he will need to forfeit his attack that round.
Once it's your turn, please feel free to post earlier than your deadline in order to make us move on faster to the battles (and then PM the next player in line).
Please post attacks in this thread.

				I think that for a next version, it would be better to only conquer the provinces that are attacked. It's more predictable and more strategic, I think.

Not possible, since a player cannot attack the player that has already attacked him that round. (See instructions in post about attack declarations above.)
Please post another attack.

I’d like to favour convincing victories, as reflected by the casualty difference, and also to have a counterbalance to larger realms so that the more regions a player controls, the more he risks losing, all else equal. This said, I’ve clarified the rules so that regions adjacent through
land border would be prioritised when selecting additional regions to gain.
