There was a tense standoff between the Lombard infantry and the Magyar horse archers. Eventually, a push by Lombard lancers on the left led to trades with more horse archers being lost than lancers.

As the sun was setting the Lombards did just enough to take the win. A game of attrition that could have gone either way.

Result: 41-14

Really tough one for Brenmusik, as the Numidian infantry plus war elephants are highly superior to the light army of the Lybians. Good game to him, and hope to make it hard-fought on the mirror battle.

Deeter (Palmyrans) defeats mh5064 (Antigonids) 11-45

The field was dominated by a large rough hill flank by a river on one side and a forest on the other. The Antigonids send all their mediums to the hill and all the pikes and cavalry into the flats before the forest. The mediums were destroyed as their flank was left open before the pikes could gain any ground.

The Antigonids deployed well back from the hill and concentrated their cav against the few cataphracts which they desroyed before wading into the defenseless massed archers. Good games!
