A very tough matchup indeed for the Medes - the Sparabara/Immortals are very difficult to counter.

AKvGoeben (Thracian-Getae 279BC-46AD) defeats Flynnn5555 (Carthaginian, Hannibal in Italy 218-217BC), 51-64.

Small patches of forest on the Thracian left were decisive in holding up the main Carthaginian attack long enough for the Thracians to work their way around the enemy's flank on the right and gain an overall advantage. Much slaughter was confined to just a few tiles.

Game 1 - horrific battle with terrible casualties on both sides, Carthage tried to overwhelm the Thrace left flank which was initially successful, however the woods became equal to the Hornets Nest ( shiloh ) and although the Thrace put up an incredible fight surrounded on 4 sides, they died to the last, but had held the advance up long enough to win the day...
