Hmm...maybe a simple measure of province balance relative to the starting umber of provinces. This would show how much a certain nation gained or lost in power in comparison to their initial position, who is on the rise at that moment in history etc. We could set a turn limit and then tally the results. We could still sum up the casualties inflicted or incurred after each turn to set the initiative order just like in TYME tournament.

OT: By the way, kronenblatt, will you be able to run the second edition of TYME tournament concurrently to this one (and others)? If so, I believe there are two places left so maybe some of the guys here would be willing to participate.

I think because the army lists are very much not balanced, this tournament is more about having fun with some amusing role-playing thrown in rather than being strictly competitive. On that note, I am willing to swear fealty as a vassal alongside my vomit-green colored Burgundians to anyone willing to change their map color to burgundy, just to confuse people.

And since it's never wrong to have fun and actually preferable to being strictly no-fun competitive, let me point out that the burgundy rgb code is (128,0,32) for anyone willing to pick up the offer from pompey.

I'm bringing this up now, since not all players like rules complexity and too much distraction from the actual FoG2 battles, so this is in order to give those who prefer it the opportunity to not participate and me the opportunity to know about it in advance.

The rules will be of a complexity somewhat á la Dividing the Spoils (but without Coalition Partners), with the addition of:

• Several different types of attack declarations with different purposes and effects and availability depending on situation of attacker and defender: Conquest, Punitive Expedition, Annexation, Revolt, Raid, Foreign Invasion, Migration, and Overlord Overthrow.

• Players can act as Vassals and Overlords to each other.

• Force Points of battles may vary between battles, depending on e.g. the outcome of previous round's battles, according to a predefined formula (I'll provide support for the calculations, of course).

The tournament works with 4-6 players too (with amendments to the setup), but as always the more the merrier (up to a maximum of 12 players), so please let me know whether you're still interested or not.

Sounds fun. Where are the extra rules for the different types of battles listed? I'm not seeing them on the first page of the divide the spoils thread.

It's not listed yet. (And doesn't exist in DiSp.) Wanted to make this sound check on interest in a more complicated setup first, before I assemble the rules (they're all in Excel now, along with FP calculations, etc. ).

I'm happy to give it all a try. I expect to end up being a troublesome vassal quite rapidly. I'm learning a lot from being schooled by better players, so this is another chance to battle some challenging opponents. I'm all for the flavour and characterisation. Expect florid prose, rousing speeches and poor attention to detail (and possibly poor tactics).

I'll take the Gepids, if still available, in a bright yellow for my map color.

I look new but I've played many times before on my brother's computer (mainly singleplayer and sometimes with my brother).
Now I saw this tournament, found out it good idea so I bought the program myself.
