I. Army marches out of its Depot in Tigris to intercept the raiding Egyptian army.


Year 10 of the rule of the Mighty Emperor Zenodores (T161)

I. Army runs into the raiding army and defeat it.
V. Army who was pursuing it destroys it afterwards.
IV. Army destroy the Egyptian army in Ammon province.
The Cilician fleet moves to Cyprus along with 5th army.


Year 11 of the rule of the Mighty Emperor Zenodores (T162)

Another 3 regions are taken from the Egyptians. (1)


Year 12 of the rule of the Mighty Emperor Zenodores (T163)

The Cilician army finally succeed to destroy the bandits.
V. Army takes Cypress.
Upper sea fleet tries to hunt down the last known Egyptian fleet.
The peace demands are sent to the Egyptians.

Year 13 of the rule of the Mighty Emperor Zenodores (T164)

The merchants of the empire gets free guards to help promote trade. (2)
3 more regions are occupied but one liberated, an army is dispatched to destroy that army.

Year 14 of the rule of the Mighty Emperor Zenodores (T165)

Chaldea builds an armoury to prepare for the military academy.
Characene builds a stable to prepare for the military academy.
Another peace offer is sent, the demands not less harsh.
Egypt is down to 4 regions, 3 regions are planned to be captured soon.

Lakhmides builds the Great Arsenal, we will never lack equipment again!
Ambassadors tells the Shah that his crimes against Babylon are in-numeral and that the armies will cross his boarders next year.
The VI. army will make a raid into the last region held by the Egyptians to keep them down while the answer the surrender.
The other two armies in west Egypt head for Persia.
Another Egyptian fleet is captured in port, the last one.

Year 1 of the rule of the Mighty Emperor Sossius II (T167)

Egypt accept the peace conditions.
Arsinoe will be a new forward naval base.
The yellow bridge is build in Palmyra.
Rumours of an Arab uprising reaches the emperors ears.
Acanthis builds training ground in preparation to build a military acadamy.
Sophene builds a palisade in preparation to build a military acadamy. (1)
A call for mercenaries is send out.

A Persian fleet destroys the picket left MaraGedrosium on the lower sea. The lower sea fleet makes a patrol along the Persian coast.
The 3 armies on the Persian boarder is send out to capture as much as possible.

Year 2 of the rule of the Mighty Emperor Sossius II (T168)

Other nations view on Babylon. (2) Saba and Nubia attack Babylonia in a fit of envy, one of the armies will have to be diverted there. (3)

Taxilas loses a naval battle along with his life as he goes down with his flag ship.
Lakhmades builds Great Military School, the generals will from now on be glorius.


Year 3 of the rule of the Mighty Emperor Sossius II (T169)

Reinforcements are called up that will join the mercenary army marching against Saba.
An 8th army is considered to supplement the mercenaries.

Year 4 of the rule of the Mighty Emperor Sossius II (T170)

Has Phareanses finally broken the curse of the Sossiusian victories at sea with his victory over Tissaphernes? Alas the emperor Sossius executes the previous chronicler for naming lost victories that way.
Another chronicler is executed for postulating that the golden age is over.


The Merc army finally arrives in Saban lands, reinforcements tickeling in.
2 Persian armies are raiding the core lands, an army arriving from Egypt will try to solve the problem.
Paphlagonia is put to siege, with an army nearly the size of the besiegers inside.
The last army in Egypt starts a southern pacification campagn to secure the south flank against raiders.
Tyre builds a coastal fortress to further secure the island fort. (4)

Notes:
(1) Somehow the region has 5 military buildings and no walls.
(2) Getting 2000 legacy from Persia is not enough to win outright.
(3) See earlier discussions on Saba. With only ~300 legacy they wont tip the balance there.

Year 5 of the rule of the Mighty Emperor Sossius II (T171)

After a series of battles the Merc army send to Saba has been pushed back, reinforcements are on the way and the egyptian army is ordred to move east in case the problem is not solved.
5 minor and one major Persian armies are being tracked, plans to destroy half of them is on the way.

Year 6 of the rule of the Mighty Emperor Sossius II (T172)

6 major battles were fought against Persia all won, but a small wear on the armies is detected.
Amazingly the Saban's didn't manage to engage the weakened army there.

Year 7 of the rule of the Mighty Emperor Sossius II (T173)

A marble mine is found in Tyre, a lot of shiny nice buildings can be build. (1)
A weapon depot is build in Gallilea, which is now ready to build a military acadamy.
Characene is building a military academy. (2)

More large battles are fought, mostly with large victories but some where near losses after a general died in battle.

Year 8 of the rule of the Glorious Emperor Sossius II (T174)

Saba moves up into Babylon proper and run into a Edomite army which they defeat.
An even larger battle (and some more and a further leader dies).
The first military genius in 1000 years is in command, Dejotarus, and he is even a tactician.

Horologium is build in Babylon.
Glorious Emperor Sossius declares a new golden age.
"Glory through victory" - Sossius.
The Persians are offered to surrender.


Year 9 of the rule of the Glorious Emperor Sossius II (T175)

The Saban army is finally crushed and to the generals surprise a Persian army marches in shortly after, which is also totally destroyed. If they had been there at the same time history might have been changed, now 10000s Sabans and Persians lie dead.
Acanthis builds the 5th Military academy, certainly we must get more generals now.
The Egyptian army arrive in Saba.

Year 10 of the rule of the Glorious Emperor Sossius II (T176)

Persia surrenders handing over all the legacy we had to give them in the first Persian war, the Statue of Marduk is home.
2 more armies march on Saba and the rest moves toward Egypt, they might need a lot of rest before they can be used again.

Year 11 of the rule of the Glorious Emperor Sossius II (T177)

Circus Maximus is build in Babylon to pacify the growing population.
3 armies will engage the Saban, the other 4 moves on Egypt where the peace has ended, the emperor is not ready to attack yet.

Year 12 of the rule of the Glorious Emperor Sossius II (T178)

The Reed sea fleet is destroyed by a superior Saban fleet. Which is not good as the south Egypt army sails that way too, and predicatively gets mauled. A new Reed sea fleet is started building, but is competing with the army for reinforcements.
The lands are ordered to build more commercial buildings to finance the empire.
And the Egyptians take that defeat as a opportunity to attack.
Tyre builds an archery school, Aegyptus builds a siege workshop and Mareotis a watch tower and are now also ready to build a military academy if the opportunity arises.
Babylon also get paved roads, but the network is very sporadic yet. (1)

Year 13 of the rule of the Glorious Emperor Sossius II (T179)

An escorted army destroys an Egyptian fleet off Tyre.
The armies in Saba observe that their siege ability has been watered down, new siegers are ordered.
The 3 armies in Egypt moves west, south and southwest to the nearest Egyptian regions or armies.
The 4 armies in Saba continues their sieges or move on to the last Saban holdings which should all be covered next year.
At least 6 Egyptian corps operate in Babylonia Egypt.

Year 14 of the rule of the Glorious Emperor Sossius II (T180)

The Glorious Emperor Sossius, the second of the name, ignoring the admiral, declares that the golden age of Babylon will continue.
4 regions are occupied by Babylon and one by Egypt.
The Merc army after some reinforcements is marching north to the Egyptian holdings in Arabia Deserta. (2)
Only 3 Egyptian corps remain on Babylonian soil, the rest withdraw or more often stormed a city and was destroyed.

Year 15 of the rule of the Glorious Emperor Sossius II (T181)

Another army is withdrawn from the Saban front, leaving 2 sieges.
The Reed sea fleet is trying to destroy the Saban fleet or at least weaken it.
A second palace is build in Chaboras, Osrone, north of Babylon, so the Emperor can command further attacks on Persia from this fortress palads.
The rich emperor Sossius institute a minor tax increase to hasten the demise of Egypt.
The constant marching hence and forth demands a steady construction of new roads and increasingly paved roads.

(1) while it gives another movement bonus, it is already 2** so should not improve any movement, except if it helps on crossriver travel.
(2) only changes in orders are noted.

Year 16 of the rule of the Glorious Emperor Sossius II (T182)

Saba is down to one region and sends a peace offer, it is not accepted.
Busaria builds the Green Bridge.
Delta starts building the first sewers, but the predicted build time is very long.
Rhambaea builds the Desert bridge to no be left behind in the bridge race.
The south Egyptian army moves to take the last region in east Egypt.
The Árabia Deserta army does the same in its area.
Peace with Persia last 3 years more, so moving armies there must soon begin.
The next to last army leaves Saba for the Persian frontier, the previous army's order to go to Egypt is cancelled for Persia.
The Cyrenaican army moves to liberate Arsinoe from Egyptian occupation.
The two armies operating in west Egypt must defeat the Egyptians, possible by splitting in 3 or 4 armies.
Tyre builds a naumachia to keep the plebes calm.


Year 17 of the rule of the Glorious Emperor Sossius II (T183)

The eastern Egypt army makes a preliminary move to take Cyprus.
The glorious emperor frees some slaves to celebrate his birthday.
The mercenary army moves toward the Persian boarder.
The two armies in Libya splits in four to hasten the downfall of Egypt.

Year 18 of the rule of the Glorious Emperor Sossius II (T184)

A master fletcher is found in Tyre.
Apamea joins the exclusive club that builds paved roads.
Babylon builds a circus to show Persians fighting lions.
The new Reed sea defeats the Saban fleet, where everyone had expected the opposite.
The last Saban city is ordered stormed, the walls are unbreach, a Saban corps defends along with the city garrison.
The glorious emperor orders a building spree all over the empire.
Several amphora factories are dismantled.
Some reserves are moved to east Babylon to reinforce needing armies.

Year 19 of the rule of the Glorious Emperor Sossius II (T185)

The last Saban city is taken.
The Saban fleet makes a last heroic stand and nearly wipes out the Reed sea fleet ... again.
Nubia seems to want to continue the fight, peace is suggested for all their legacy and idols. The Saban army is ordred to prepare an invasion of Nubia if needed.
Two Cyrenaican regions are taken back by the Egyptians, the nearest army is ordered to take care of the problem.
Egypt has 5 regions where two will immediately be invaded.
A serious shortage of generals means an army has no commander.
The health of the emperor deteriorate quickly, priest are ordered to pray for his recovery.
From his bed the emperor reforms a waste number of laws, hoping that his good administrative skill will bring good, all other hope he wont die before its done.
The emperor sends a gift to the Sauvirans on the eastern boarder of Persia, hoping for an alliance in the futhure.


Year 20 of the rule of the Glorious Emperor Sossius II (T186)

One of the mini armies in Libya is nearly defeated by the Egyptians, they will need to rejoin or reinforce before taking on any serious Persian army.
The utterly talents cowardly general Rhadamistos leads two armies against the last remaining larger army and annihilates it.
Another bribe is send to the Sauvirans and also to the Aethiopia.
Egypt ask for peace and Babylon demands 1400 trinkets and 4 regions.
Massive walls are build in Tyre, many thinks it is not needed. Following up their success at bridge building, the Rhambaeans also build an oracle, the Pythia.
3 Egyptian regions remaining, two should be taken next year.
The surplus armies moves to the coast for redeployment.
A single Egyptian army sieges the massive walls of Acanthis.
A message is send to various nations that mercenaries are hired.
The Persians are notified that the Babylonia army is coming for its relics and idols.
3 Armies are ready to attack immediately, and one more next year, followed by two more from Libya the years after.
The remaining armies cleans up and then move to defend the empire.
One army still operates in Nubia.
Hopefully the last war.

Year 21 of the rule of the Glorious Emperor Sossius II (T187)

Nubia reject peace so the war goes on.
Once again two armies are left without a competent general.
Trade networks are once again promoted, the gold cost leave a gaping hole in the emperors coffers.
An army is retaliating against the last Egyptian region to prevent the gathering of an army there.
The Nubian fleet is captured and joins the Reed fleet.

Year 22 of the rule of the Glorious Emperor Sossius II (T188)

Egypt agree to our peace proposal.
A huge 3 day battle is fought in Uxia, Elamais, but superior Persian generalship carries the day. Half the army is lost and the general replaced.
The great forge is build in Thilabus.
The Nubians are offered to hand over the 2 coastal regions and all their idols.
The emperor orders sanitation for everyone.
The Lakhmides builds a bridge over the ravines to connect to the Edomites, the merchants rejoice.
An army is send to Rhodes to take it from the barbarians and Athenians.
A couple of provinces are ordered to send more gold.
Low war weariness is sapping the empire.
The Persians seems better prepared this time around.

Year 23 of the rule of the Glorious Emperor Sossius II (T189)

The southern army is defeated again and will withdraw to Sumeria.
A further golden age is declared by the Ancient emperor.

Year 24 of the rule of the Glorious Emperor Sossius II (T190)

Nubia agree to peace.
The Persians gathers a huge army of more than 700 bataljons.

Year 25 of the rule of the Glorious Emperor Sossius II (T191)

A babylonian army secure some good defensive terrain in Aenae and is finally able to defeat the grand army of Persia, though the losses were not great and the reinforcements for the Persian army far outstrips the losses.
The emperor orders the peasants to work harder to feed the festivals of his 25 year jubilee.
A sculpture shop is set up in Corsote that will bring much prestige to the empire, the first 1000 orders are statues of the emperor.
The academy of Thebais will also get a statue of the emperor.

Cyprus announces they have a master hunter.
The army atop Aenae's mountains defeat the grand army again.
The great temple is build in Acanthis.

Year 2 of the rule of the Glorious Emperor Mithridates (T193)

New health regulations are passed.
The Persian grand army moves out of sight to lick its wounds, but is now 800 battalions.
The armies try to hold the grand army away but otherwise take Lydia.

Year 3 of the rule of the Glorious Emperor Mithridates (T194)

The grand army shows up at the siege of Uxia, but is defeated again, despite having 843 battalions.
The victorious army is moving to follow the grand army.
Babylon builds sewers, it is no longer good enough to dump things on the street or in the river.
Lakhmides builds a hospital to heal the wounded soldiers that comes near.
Dejotarus is ordered to move on the grand army from Lydia, it will take a while but the emperor would like to see Persepolis burned down like the Persians did in one of the first war to Babylon.

Year 4 of the rule of the Glorious Emperor Mithridates (T195)

The emperor declares a new golden age.
The southern army fails to defeat the grand army.
The emperor support cultural development.

Year 5 of the rule of the Glorious Emperor Mithridates (T196)

Seems the Ionian revolt is under way while Babylon tries to take the provinces.

A reasonable peace offer for 413%

Year 6 of the rule of the Glorious Emperor Mithridates (T197)

The attack on Persis region, just in case the Persians think our peace offer is not for real. A military academy is constructed in Gallilea.

Year 7 of the rule of the Glorious Emperor Mithridates (T198)

The end? The deed is done we won.
The peace with Egypt ends.
