Pfft, you are recommending option 2 only because it's less work for you

.
Jokes aside, it isn't really important to me, all of the offered systems are fine. I'll vote option 2 to support the effort you are putting in making the leagues possible

.

Final weekly round-up
The big relegation battle in Division A was won by klayeckles (Saka) which means that rbodleyscott (Rhoxolani) is relegated. Elsewhere, MikeC_81 (Romans) finished in second place with a win over ruskicanuk (Achaemenid Persians). In Division B ggarynorman (Romans) is relegated after losing an adjudication to third-placed Aryaman (Lysimachids). All the issues in the other divisions had already been decided before the last week of competition. This was an excellent section overall with everyone making a real effort to complete all their matches on time.

In

The final result of the poll was as follows . . .
1. Option 2 (draws score 1 point only if 20% losses inflicted on opponent)...............................26 votes (40%)
2. Option 4 (draws and losses score 1 point for every 20% losses inflicted on opponent)..............17 votes (26%)
3. Option 5 (no change is required).............................................................................10 votes (15%)
4. Option 3 ( marginal victory rule)..............................................................................9 votes (14%)
5. Option 1 (no points for draws).................................................................................3 votes (5%)
So Option 2 will be implemented in Season 3. This turned out to be quite a clear win in the end. I still think that Option 4 can be trialled in a future season if the anomalies associated with it are resolved and we still feel there are problems relating to negative play after Season 3 has been completed.

I don't whether to be amused or concerned that you have a bingo kit!

It is essential for knock-out tournaments.

Maybe you know about it already and just like your bingo kit that much, but there's a great online tool for managing tournaments - challonge.com (Sorry if external links are not allowed here). Not sure if it could be used for league-style tournament, but it definitely could save you a bit of time with the knock-outs.
As per topic, I'm for option 2, in theory it should create a more balanced experience for everyone.

Prize voucher winners for Season 2
Posted: Mon Aug 13, 2018 2:54 pm
by stockwellpete
The arrangement with Slitherine is that they will provide 2 prize vouchers each for Classical Antiquity, Late Antiquity and Enemies of Rome and 1 prize voucher for From Zhou to Chen and the Themed Event. Players are only allowed to win one prize voucher in any season. The value of the vouchers are $25 and they have to be spent in the Slitherine store.
The voucher winners are (with their points total in brackets) . . .
Themed Event - Nosy_Rat
Classical Antiquity - Ludendorf (36) and hidde (33)
Late Antiquity - pantherboy (33) and dkalenda (26)
Enemies of Rome - IMC (32) and harveylh (28). Note here that pantherboy (36) and Ludendorf (32) both scored more points in this section than IMC and harveylh, but they had already been allocated prizes so were ineligible for a second voucher.
From Zhou to Chen - Gorrick (36)
Once again I would like to thank Slitherine very much for sponsoring this tournament.

Weekly round-up
Cunningcairn scored a decisive win over markwatson360 to move away from the bottom of Division A and markwatson360 won a crucial victory over rexhurley to relegate his opponent with them both finishing on 8 points. There is nothing to report in Division B and in Division C Brenmusik could only achieve a draw from his last two matches to leave himself in last place.

MikeC_81 did not want his voucher so the next player in line in Late Antiquity is dkalenda.
