Two more games finished. I managed to win both.

One battle was against Cavehobbit. He had Transylvanians and I has Polish. A bad matchup for him as he had many medium infantry units that he tried to protect against my massed cavalry. He played excepcionally well and was beating me until I managed a breaktrough by pure brute force and that was a disaster for his densely packed troops as he had to take many morale checks from seeing nearby friendly units breaking, and my horse could make many flank charges. Despite that, the battle was in balance for some time as he played better than me and could make terrific flank charges against my troops. Finally victory was mine with a narrow 47% to 67% or something similar.

The other one was against Aryaman. Late Italian Wars armies, French mine and Spanish his. I started charging like crazy, berserker like, I still don´t know why, and he took advantage of that. Then it was a long struggle to catch up and I was luckier (broke a kiel with three or four rounds of artillery fire). We both had many light units and some parts of the battle were very tactical, specially with light horse, both trying to get a little advantage in what was a chess-like situation. At the end I had the upper hand and came as the winner.

Thank you to my rivals (just in the field of battle!) for two very interesting games.

A pod 1 result:

The Italian army was light troop and gendarme heavy vs a more balanced french army. The skirmishing was rapidly degrading the french army's ability to fight and then disaster struck. An italian gendarmes unit broke a french gendarmes unit and broke into the rear and flank of the main french gendarmes force. In one turn, it completely wiped out all of the french army left flank. I've never seen a single unit do so much damage in one turn. It was devastating and there was no way for the french army to recover.

The French display too much cavalry for this battle. Worried about my left cavalry flank to be outnumbered clearly, was forced to divide my inf regiments in 2 groups to support the heavy cavalry charge. My inf arrived at the right momment to support them. Step by step, french cavalry was wiped out slowly but without stop. At this time, when french inf arrived to battlefield, it was too late. This time german catholics had their happy day.

batesmotel (Spanish) 23% beat Pantherboy (French) 53%

Thanks for the game. The loss of both French keils were the big factor in this game. One was shot to breaking by Spanish lights and the other was eventually broken by a Spanish Keil catching it after it had pursues into the woods into some Spanish detached musketeers or crossbowmen.

I had the advantage in the game in numbers of light troops -- which, in the end, decided the game. I was also fortunate. A raw kiel hung on way longer than one should expect and I gave up a couple of flank/rear attacks where my unit stood stoutly. Game was decided on both flank battles which I won. The french kept pressing the center -- but lost too much elsewhere.

Another game completed. My early Polish beat Vadim84 Turks. A huge horde of bow armed cavalry tried to envelope my left flank but somehow it didn´t happen and my better quality mounted units could grind them down. Most of the battle was decided here as the center and right flank were sideshows. Thank you Vadim.
