For the Classical period. Open, Potluck, 24 turns, 40W x 32H maps and 1600 points.

You will also need to download the Silk Road Modules for some games.

For example:

To make it easier for players to know they have received a challenge. Go to private messages, board preference, edit global settings and hit yes for everything. You will receive an email informing you of private messages and PBEM notifications.

This is not compulsory, but it might be worth editing your match challenge post with the phrase: “game started” - doing so will help the organizers keep track of how things are progressing.

Enjoy and have a "chat" with your opponent. You may have quite a lot in common.

For the Dark Ages period, Open, Potluck, 24 turns, 36W x 32H maps and 1400 points.
For Eastern and Western Medieval, open, potluck, 24 turns, 32W x 32H maps and 1200 points.

Issuing challenges for Eastern Medieval use the format of “Names, Armies, confirm match created, confirm personal message sent, list password.”

For example:

Division A

"harveylh (Crusader 1155 -1291 AD) challenges ericdoman1 (Indian Muslim 1192 - 1339 AD); match is up, personal message sent, and password is.... 1234"

To make it easier for players to know they have received a challenge: Go to Notifications, top left, then settings and tick all or what is most appropriate

My bad, Delbruck will be changed as you're a lower ranked seed.

Note: a couple of further adjustments were made to divisions and army picks due to some conflicting ranking data getting sorted out amongst the coordinators.

When issuing challenges please make sure you are using the correct format. Note that some games may need the use of the time warp facility against certain opponents using FOG2 armies. Also you will need to download the Silk Road modules. These are indicated in the Divisional tables below.

For Eastern and Western Medieval, open, potluck, 24 turns, 32W x 32H maps and 1200 points.

Issuing challenges for Eastern Medieval use the format of “Names, Armies, confirm match created, confirm personal message sent, list password.”

For example:
"carpenkm (Byzantine (Italy) 1050-1071 with Papal 1050-1154) challenges Karvon (Navarrese 1050 – 1154 AD); match is up, personal message sent, and password is.... havefun". Don’t forget to send that PM!

To make it easier for players to know they have received a challenge: Go to top right. Click on Notifications, then settings and tick all boxes or most appropriate ones.

This is not compulsory, but it might be worth editing your match challenge post with the phrase: “game started” - doing so will help the organizers keep track of how things are progressing.

All but two players received their first choice. The Byzantines in their various forms were the most popular choice.

You play everyone else in your division at your choice of order. You can issue challenges to anyone in your division or your opponents may challenge you and you can accept. If you have too many games going then just let your opponent know that you may be a bit slow until you have fewer games. Challenges are created in the multiplayer zone and you post here with details and password. You should also send a private message to your opponent so that they know. Post again if you are unfamiliar with setting up challenges. Good luck

Hold on, I'm supposed to issue nine challenges at once, and each is a "large" game, not a medium one? How long do we have to complete the nine challenges - I don't think much more than two at a time is feasible

You don't have to do all 9 challenges at one time; you can do as little as one at a time, or try all at once. Most people have about 3 active ones. It's up to you, just make sure you get them all done by the deadline!^^

Is the deadline 7 May/ That gives us about 12 weeks, and you can play slightly less than two matches every two weeks (or one just under one match per week) to meet the deadline.

I think on board preferences its only the first three that are needed to be marked yes?
