Aircraft use at least 1/2 their movement points in fuel, even if they don't move at all (and not adjacent to an airfield).
An example: a fighter with 14 movement and 6 more points added to it (now 20 move points) will use a minimum of 10 fuel/turn even if it doesn't move. A recon plane with 18 move is even worse because it uses at least 9 fuel each time it moves. If it moves 14 hexes, it uses 14 fuel. Then move it 1 more hex, it uses 9 more fuel.
So depending on what effect you want to see, you may need to add more fuel. Or if you want them to travel far but refuel more often, you've probably already achieved that effect. This is an interesting concept and could probably use extensive testing to get the right balance. Thamks for sharing it

OK thanks everyone for your reactions. Remember airspeed = movement and range = fuel.
I did some testplay and I think it's better to increase the movement of ALL aircraft in the game. It will be done in update v0.55.
I see only positieve reactions about this in the forum so thanks for your opinions.
All aircraft will get a +6 movement.

Railroads will get numbers in the upcoming updates. In large maps it's more easy to move your troops by train now. Make a choice which railroad to follow and follow the signs.

In order to make sure I properly understand: if you increase air range, you move longer distances on (big and small) maps but you need to go to airfields more often so your combat time on the front is more limited than before, no ?
Your recon plane cannot stay on the front as long as before.
So what's the advantage ?
Sorry if this is not clear to me, could you explain again what is the added-value ?
Shouldn't we have to increase the fuel value too (of all aircrafts) in order to avoid them the need to refuel all the time ?
I have also the feeling that AI takes more time to play than before the range value change.

Hi Robert,
The movement (every turn) of the aircraft will be increased, the fuel consumption (range) stays the same. So if you have a fuel of 100, you can fly 100 hexes range before refueling is needed. This stays the same, only you can fly faster.
So in the new situation if you want to move a aircraft over a long distance on the map you can do it in less turns than before. You need to refuel if your fuel is low and that will be after you spend the same number of hexes as before. Fuel depence on distance not on speed.

I have not tested it yet but make sure that air transport also benefit from extra range too (I am thinking about paratroopers or units moved by gliders).
I do not know if units moved by air transport are managed the same way as aircrafts.
BTW I tested the modified e-file (on small maps) and I am used to it, a few turns are needed (and I lost a fighter by lack of fuel) but it works like a charm!
Now the need to capture airfields in game is of paramount importance, more than ever!

Hi Edward,
First v0.54 is out so update to v0.54.
I think that what you call the "logistical system" will be the Fuel/Ammo/Supply trucks and depots. There are only a few scenarios operational with this. This is because the system is complicated and there must be a lot of data be made in the scenario itself to let it work. You will get messages in the operational scenaros telling you how to use it.
Older scenarios will be updated from time to time so it will be better in the future.

Hi PHCAS,
I am still playing DLCs and I notice that image for extra capabilities are missing for heroic units. Wehrmacht has only one image for instance for one capability type (a head of German soldier with a German flag in the background), other types are missing.
Same issue when playing on the Allied or Soviet side.
Could you fix this ?
But medals are not the problem, Germany has for instance iron cross 1, iron cross 2, iron cross with leaves.
Could you check also the medals for other nations ? I think that some medals are missing on US side.
Those are only details but if not done then let's use what original Pz Korps delivered since today we have a square with lines in it showing a missing image.

But I took a look at UI folder in AK mod and we already have awards!
And nice ones BTW.
Apparently some are missing, maybe AK Rebel and PHCAS could make sure they have all needed awards and if not, they could add the missing ones from the second link you gave.
No need to do some extra work by creating new awards but at least let's make sure the player has an image each time he gets an award.
Heroes of war awards/images are missing for aircrafts and tanks.
