AL/JUSTIN - Hey Al, Can't find it now, but you did you post results for your final two games with Jcb?
I want to close out that round and award our new FeldMarschall his fifth star!

Not done quite yet with those two. I just just now sent another turn back to Al, and I think its 6 to go on each.

Fellow Ninjas... Carpiquet awaits...

This one is The Daddy... 64 Allied units assault 48 Germans...

As the Canadian attackers, you're going to feel invincible, for about the first three turns... You have 30 mixed infantry and 24 tanks... Use 'em wisely... The Designer would discourage frontal assaults without HMS Rodney's naval artillery in support (but as proven in Hillman, what do I know, lol)... Sure, you have Typhoons, but until you can take down some of your opponent's 88's, consider your flyboys disposable Kamikaze recon...

As the Germans, you'll feel comfortable for as long as you can stay in control... You're at a 3-to-4 unit disadvantage, but they're the cream of Battle Academy... Numerous Waffen SS, five Panthers, three Tigers and four 88's... Carpiquet field has been constructed as two concentric perimeters... an outer wall of forest and hedgerow, with only four access points... protecting an inner defence of interlocking rough ground, dune grass and bunkers (it's the best I could do to replicate the underground blockhouses and trenches of the original)... Attacking armour will be vulnerable on the mandatory narrow approach roads, and on the wide open spaces of the airfield proper... You will probably dominate at the start, but if you permit yourself to become overwhelmed, it will be difficult to recover...

5 VP flags, 20 turns.
Holder of most flags at the end, wins the game.

How to download the GJS'44 Tourney into Battle Academy
GottaLove88s wrote:Ok guys,

1. Run BA on your Mac, PC or iPad
2. If you do not already have GJS'44 Tournaments on your system, skip ahead to Step 8
3. Choose Multiplayer (at the bottom)
4. Log in to Multiplayer as usual
5. Choose the My Challenges tab (at the top) then press New Challenge
6. Select a GJS'44 Open Tourney scenario and then Delete Campaign (bottom right)
7. Press X until you get back to BA start screen
8. Choose Campaigns (at the bottom)
9. Choose Download Community Scenarios (at the top)
10. Choose Download a Campaign Package from the Internet (top right)
11. Type http://bit.ly/gjs44tourney into the URL box
12. Click the green tick
13. Back at the campaigns list, select "GJS44 v1.23 Tournament" and click Download the Selected Campaign (bottom centre)
14. This should download everything that you need
15. Press X until you get back to the BA start screen and choose Multiplayer
16. Log in to Multiplayer as usual
17. Either go to the My Challenges tab and click the New Challenge arrow. This list will now show the GJS'44 v1.23 Tournament Scenarios... GJS'44 Open Tourney: Carpiquet
18. Or go to the Accept Challenges tab and click the scenario that you're supposed to be fighting (if your opponent has already setup your game)

After all that, you can play GJS'44 on any platform... Phew!!
Neat instructional vid by fellow gamer IDjester, explaining how to download and setup GJS'44... Thanks mate. Nice! :D

Wow, that was fast... I've grabbed your first two Arctic... I want to get comfortable that the (im)balance works ok... Vieles Gluck mein Freund! ;-)

No pool on this one, but with the amount of AP that will be flying around, it might be wise to hide in the river?

Taken two, Jcb... I feel I deserve a medal already, just for (sort of) getting all of my (far too many) Allied units in order...

However, I have no doubt that you'll be exceedingly helpful in reducing my number of units, to make my turns easier, lol...
Good luck!

Jammy in the sense of, OMG, I practically need the entire north edge of the map to place all of my units...?
Or, jammy as in heck, will someone change the light to green already... There are 15 Shermans in front of me!

Allies are just brutal. It's pretty sad when half the Germans you've managed to take out so far are due to a Typhoon. PTSD for everybody.

Arctic's being modest... His Typhoon managed to take out a Tiger AND a Panther, ok pretty foolishly parked back to back, within three squares of two 88's and a Wirbelwind, whose crews looked on in amazement, lol... He bagged my other Tiger when his, I'm guessing eight or so (?), Sherman crews bravely decided to take on a Tiger from the front... The Tiger lost... Valour medals all round for the Allied side (the Typhoon pilot must be a half brother of Al's frequent flyer!! )

When (if) I figure out how to crack this as Allies, it's going to feel darned good indeed...!

Well at the time I did not realize you'd cram the allies into two singular approaches, seperated by staging areas that are maze-like. lol.
Time to get Merr's Rhino sherman out and running through some of those hedges.
