Terrain helped give the Germanic Foot Tribes one relatively secure flank. The Roman cavalry were not able to successfully attack either flank which decided the game as the warbands rolled over the Roman infantry in the center.

Correction, it appears the loser names have been reversed. harveylh's Chen Chinese lost to Gorrick's Northern Dynasties 48-21.

Division C Round 9

harveylh (Romans 425-492AD) beat Morbio (Western Huns 376-454AD) by 60-39.

Terrain greatly favored the Romans. A stream secured the Roman right flank and shrank the battlefield by about a third. Some rough terrain and a hill made the left flank somewhat secure. The Western Huns did mitigate the terrain by deploying every bow possible and came close to shooting their way to victory.

edb1815 Romans defeats Nijis Carthage Hannibal in Italy 41-13

This was a game of whose flank would go first. The Romans anchored their weak flank on a difficult going hill using velites and 1 Italian infantry to hold it. Luckily one velite held out far longer that it should have against a warband unit - thanks to the steep slope. The Roman line turned the other flank and held off the Carthaginian cavalry to get the win. Well played by Nijis.
