Firstly apologies to gamercb for the delay in this post, I've been away.
The Slaves do it again, thanks to the terrain and a slope. For once chariots (or cavalry) couldn't get behind me and a sneaky flanking attack by picked warbands was held up long enough (by the slope) for victory to fall in my lap.

This came right down to the final turn.

TGM (Gauls) beats klayeckles (Skythian) 12-44

A narrow map and nothing but evady cavalry to stop a horde of drunk warbands, made it a difficult task for the steppe dwellers.

A draw for Klayeckles (saka) and shadowblack (spartan)
Seems the Saka can't pick a decent battlefield... again a major stream pinched the field down, and the spartans used it to their best advantage...slowly inching forward and closing gaps. When the spartan cav was routed the Saka shooters began to find some gaps and do some damage... the day was getting late...and with arrows running low, and the remnants of the spartan wall scattering some of the saka cav off the field, the fall of night ended the chances of the cavalry running free in the flanks from pulling out a victory...nicely played.

Weekly round-up

Still nothing much to report in Division A. ruskicanuk (Achaemenid Persians) registered a second win to join the group chasing MikeC_81 (Romans). At the bottom klayeckles (Saka) and shadowblack (Spartans) agreed a draw to score their first points of this campaign. Division B was also quiet with just a couple of results reported. In Division C, Ludendorf (Hannibal in Africa) has moved back to the top with his sixth win in a row, while second-placed Ulysisgrunt (Jewish) lost his last match to finish with a creditable 6 wins from 9 starts. It looks very unlikely now that another player will be able to challenge Ludendorf for the top spot. At the bottom Cunningcairn (Ptolemaics) and Hendricus (Macedonians) are both desperate for points. A very busy week in Division D but it is still no clearer who is going to come out on top. Jakdaw (Romans) and Peterabb (Macedonians) both registered 2 wins to join the group of players behind RagnarOneTooth (Hannibal in Italy). dkalenda (Seleucids) is currently in ninth place but has a win and a draw from his 2 starts and he still has a chance from promotion from this division. Zardoz02 (Romans) has posted another win in Division E this week to close the gap on youngr (Spartans) and GDod (Ptolemaics).
