Cheers

Alasdair as long as We find the numbers 6,6,6 on your dice and not engraved on your head. I have seen the film "The Omen" and saw what happened to the guys that tried to get the better of that individual.

we are more likley to find the numbers 9,9,9,9,9.9 on the five dice John throws (see what i did there!).

may i make a brief appeal on behalf of the "unranked three", frederic, jim and me. we are naturally nervous amidst you "ranked" ones so be nice to us please. even better - if you wish to impose a 20% pre game battle group reduction (on yourselves) we will not be offended ......... hunter. PS 50% for Alasdair would be the icing on the cake. just a thought. hunter.

and of course can I claim unranked as down in the dungeon level of 75th... plus of course my son is unranked in FOGR... we wont use the context of his fogam ranking as that is a different system... of course to save the ranked (or is that rankled) players wasting bringing all those figs and not using 20% of them... how about us unrankled players get additional 20% rounded.. 24 battlegroups has such a nice ring to it... 6,6,6,6 deployment.. works for me :)

I would be disappointed if the best I could roll on 5 six sided dice were 5 nines.

Hunter stop that pathetic pleading. You now that your are only unranked because your wife would not let you out to play at Britcon last year. Oh yes and because you never submit the results of any Of the Scottish FOGR tournaments you organise.

There's a very good reason that some of you don't have a ranking. It's that nobody sends the results of the Scottish competitions to TIm so that he can include them.

Update: Beaten to it by John! Are you two sharing transport? That's going to be a fun 5 hours each way!

on rankings... did the very nice man (other than rbs and the horse master) been able to produce a pre britcon revised rankings list?

humilty kevin. its humility that prevents us sending the results to south britain. the same humility that would not bridle from acceptng a 20% pre game bonus although i see no ranked players have yet stepped up to the mark. maybe john wil nobly lead the way. nobbly even ..... hunter

That would presumably be the same kind of humility that stops me from doing the gardening.

July Rankings are done (big thank you to Richard and Colin B for getting my questions answered so quickly), just waiting for the BHGS Secret Committee to put them on the website. I don't know but they may have other things on their mind (can't think what though...). There are a couple of new this time names in the top 10, one of whom is of interest to this competition...

As for the Results from the soon to be SHGS, I have nagged and nagged to get them but to no avail. Now if I could get the e-mail address of Hunter's good lady...

i am really sorry but i honestly didnt keep the results from the scotch comps. i cant give what i aint got fellahs. i will do better in future i promise. as for shgs - aint seen much action on that front for a while. as an aside it was these rankings i was referring to when i petitioned for clemency on behalf of the "unranked three", a plea which has as yet it would appear has fallen on deaf ears! c'mon lads why not throw the dog a bone - its only 20/50%!

Yes, the three Scottish FOGR players will be travelling together in one car. Hunter and I enjoy taking the mickey out of each other and there is no malice intended in any of our comments. I just wish he would not wear those shorts and ask every five minutes of the journey, "Are we there yet?"
By the way don't be fooled by his protestations of helplessness at Britcon. It is my belief that he really fancies his chances this year and indeed he has got a good grip of his Anglo Dutch. Opponents should be very aware of the danger he will provide.
After my lucky win last year, I will however be exposed badly this year and will present little challenge to the giants of the competition. Like Miss Jean Brodie, I fear I am past my prime.
What's my name again?
??
This signature will have to do until I remember.

The flags from LOA certainly match the quality of his figs. Really looking forward to seeing this army first hand.

whooooooa tonto! or john, as it is in this case. there may be 3 scots foggers travelling down in eric's bus but dont forget our ex pat amigo dave of the clan redhead. by my reckoning that gives the auld country a 1 in four chance of a podium place once you discount 2 of the "unranked three". yes the craick consists largely of ripping the mince out of each other but we wouldnt have it any other way. as for my fog competence i will leave that to others to decide - but i will confess to a passing acquainatnce with the rules and some experience with the scots dutch boys. whether that will travel well or be eclipsed by the attendant nerves of the big occassion remains to be seen. i well remember bieng demolished by alasdair after an appalling delployment and duke oy york impression a couple of years ago. i do so hope ive got that out of my system now.

Tim, does that mean Nigel is now 10th in the rankings following his 4th place at Attack!

Nigel, Lowly ranking rubbish. You had to teach Byron how to play but still came 4th.

By sunday midday, byron was giving me sound advice... does this mean bringing a massed horde of poor battlegroups has gravity... probably for my ranking if the 10th is true... :)
