The Apollo Space program was, in my humble opinion, mans finest endeavour of the 20th century.

Yes, it's odd that to play a game of toy soldiers we will need far more computing power than it took to get to the moon

IainMcNeil wrote:As soon as we know we'll let you know. Getting a book in to print format takes some planning and we only start to investigate last week and it has to fit around all the other work we were already dealing with. Also bear in mind half the company is away on holiday for the next few weeks so everything is slower. We don't know yet how long it will take to get the full plan in place but there are a number of people working on it already.
Slitherine shd be applauded for listening to its customers. As it did when revising the rules themselves.

I will be grateful for any printed version. Personally, I cd do without the photos, but I'll happily pay for a lavish illustrated version, if that is what emerges. Equally, I'd be willing to buy an electronic version for a platform I don't have if it gave me the right to print a simple PDF out on my computer.

Whatever form it takes, a printed V2 will be much appreciated.

Thanks for listening,

Alan

i agree and i did...because i love this game, and i am happy that slitherine has understood that not everyone owns an iphone/tablet.
the penetration of tablets and iphones is 15% of the population....so if you take our niche hobby and take 15% of that...there is not much left.
moreover i will NOT travel to a convention and tournament with my laptop, its battery has a 2 hours life expectancy....
and then i cannot leave it because i will be scared of theft.

but Hidiho! to slitherine if they find us a solution to have a print version...i am really glad they heard us...their customers..their players..

see you soon at a tournament all of you i hope...

btw

I'm going to have to side with all the contrarians here. I live in Silicon Valley and even I don't have a tablet computer. And I am not bringing my laptop to a gaming event, I've tried that in the past and it did not work. I supposed I could download it to my work computer and print it out at work and bring the printouts to the table, but that kinda defeats the purpose.

having a nice edited and illustrated book is a plus for FOG when comparing to other rules. A nice edited book or army sets you can bring to the toilets, to your bed, in your car.......
i have an ipad, but i don't like the idea to change a book against an electronic version. It is a bad idea. I really like FOG and was excited of V2 release but the idea of having the choice between an Ipad version and a printed crap paper version is disapointing me. People around me (south France) are considering switching to other rule sets!!! Is your decision unrevocable about a physical book?
