Eric, the current series of battles against the Pontic forces ended yesterday when I defeated RexHurley. The Pontic forces have achieved their goals and I think that will make for a very interesting strategic situation that we'll all want to see played out. There is a separate campaign going on in Cappadocia against the Pontic tide but that's being conducted by me and Klaus.
Best,
Tim

I must still be in the local vicinity and we only finished our game 2 and a half days ago.
I have also been asking for a repeat attempt since the 20th, I believe. Not sure as I can not go back to previous posts without deleting this.
I am still not sure what happened with Fedem's battle, I believe he won or did he?
We may not ahve won any of the battles and or not a really convincing win overall. Shirley that is another reason why I should be sent back.

There were 4 battles in the series -- me as the Pontic force facing you, Fedem, BurinusAgricolae, and RexHurly. Fedem won, you drew, and Burinus and Rex lost. So the net result is a Pontic victory, if I understand Klaus' rules. Which is good, as I think it will make for a more interesting strategic situation, and you'll have plenty of chances to face the Pontic tide again - and soon. Surely Rome is crying out that her best generals be sent East! So be sure you'll get a rematch.
Too soon to say how things will shake down in Cappadocia.... today should bring the final move in Game 2. I won Game 1 but this too is a 4-game series and Game 2 may be a draw.
Best,
Tim

So just wondering and I have checked. Why I was not able to return and fight again when I had been asking to do so since the 20th. Looking at the map. It wasn't actually looking too bad. I know I was 6 vs 0 down and yes that was my fault but I was in a pretty good position. I must have been quite a bit aggrieved as I haver never, ever done anything like that before

Perhaps esteemed blowhard Consul with little trumpet its because you claimed unfair, and ran from the field of battle to cry into your cups, so hence why should you be allowed to return unless of course its due to your endless supply of coin, whereas the rest of us foolishly fronted up using your advice only to find it flawed.
Well what remains of my Legion now find's itself captured and sent further East as mercenaries of the Eastern Horde to act as guardians for the far borders, as for myself I now find myself returned to earth in another form that of my younger brother since my own carcass hangs from a crucifix in the wastes of the East, disemblowelled and riddled with gold the heathens poured molten down my throat. He know's only loyalty to Rome and our house and follow's no one except those that give him opportunity.
Consul of the Mouse my deepest apologies however I had to be weaned from my mothers bosum before I could join you and alas my brother that you knew so well has been slayed by the idiocracy of the Consul of the East, why is that he is the Leader of the Republicians and not you? Either way I don't give a flying rats about politics just let me slay the enemies of Rome and learn the way's of men, mice and other hero's of Rome

Hi Rex:
I don't think I'm supposed to play you again as Mithridates. The idea was to fight one battle against each opponent. Unless you're proposing a "friendly match"?
Best,
Tim

SPQR VERY IMPORTANT - PHASE 3.3 STARTS
ELECTION of the CONSULS of ROME
All governors retire and return to Rome. All military commanders will return to Rome too. Those who have not ended their respective committment will be considered "returned".
For all coming elections the two strongest fractions will each propose a pair of candidates for the election of Consuls, not both candidates do have to belong to the own party !
Even a member of an opposing party could be nominated to get support from this side.
The proposal for this election is:
1. Batesmotel & Tiavals
2. Ericdoman & Fedem
Tribunes will be awarded to the opposition only.
All votes are secret, send them by PM (--> Demetrios). Each member of the Senate is eligible for voting, the amount of points equalizes the number of votes of the respective roman citizen.
The election ends on Sunday 26.3. CET 20:00 !!
The winning pair will be assigned to the ranks of "Consuls of Rome"
Afterwards phase 3.4 will commence - the Senate will vote on proposals for laws, declarations of wars, assignment of new governors etc..

While I recognise that you will be rather occupied lobbying the masses of Rome, would your General's feel like giving my lackey brother a lesson in manners while we await the outcome of the election.
Normal Rules both with Roman 400pts three command and no allies of our own design.

Arrrr, by the fiery pilum-hole of Minerva, more trickery by the Senate. Since when have true Romans taken up the antics of the Greeks by voting in secret? Tis not manly to let others not know where you stand.
I vote now in the open, writing with the blood of my favourite Aquilifier ( no spare ink in a battle): Ericus and Bates for Consul, why Bates you ask? He feels the same way about the bunglings of the senate as I do and feels the shame of Romans political wranglings which cause legions to sail to Gaul from Africa and then back to Gaul and then to Pontus, and now back to Gaul.
The blood of The Turks 9th and my 10th Legion is on your hands. If i survive this battle , there will be a reckoning! If I am victorious , not a single Gaul prisoner will be sent south so that feebled old men will get rich in the slave trade, nay, they will honor the dead legionaires with Gladitorial sport in the old way (or join my ranks , he he )

(I thought we had to vote for pair number 1 or pair number 2, instead of choosing 2 people to vote for? Am I wrong?)

Blimy, curse the senat, since they think the word "note" is spelled with no E it has misled me! Or is it correct and a grammatical double negative. Yet again we await clarification....
