The armies both deployed to their left: the Thracians had a lovely bit of rough going and forest to sit in and the Antigonids went to the left of a large forest in their deployment zone.

Both armies swung forward on their left until with about half the time gone they were facing each other along the battlefield instead of across. It was apparent that the Thracian position was too strong for the Antigonids to attack, so my Thracians charged out and crucially had two things going in their favour: 1) numbers on their side, 2) an external corner in the Antigonid line. In the initial charge everything went my way and in my second round of combat I got a warband into the flank of a pike phalanx and broke three Antigonid units with the warbands charge and pursuit. My pike general and warband general also won and the game was over in a hurry.

This civil war finished due to Dailamies could break the centre of Khorasan army and toke advantage in its right flank. The left flank was destroyed by Khorasan but some calvary archers could move back to suplly the centre. Dailamies started on a hill but the battle was in a low land

The Indo-Greek army anchored themselves between two forests. While the open center took some damage, the terrain helped the flanks hold on and win.

Venetian forces lost cohesion and main force shifted right to push back a Crusader Knight unit, Crusader centre and right were able to overpower the Venetian forces set against them before the Venetian right could get to grips with the Crusader cavalry screen. Venetian forces were let down by unlucky outcomes in the early exchanges which helped the Crusaders gain victory (dismounted knights weren't up for it today). GG

Division B

Deeter (Antigonid) defeats Najanaja (Hannibal in Italy) 59-34.

The battleground was flat open terrain with a river on one flank and rough/woods on the other. The Punics moved to attack the Antigonid left with heavy infantry. Antigonid mediums filled the rough there and hunkered down to resist a siege. This continued throughout the battle with fluctuating fortunes. As the rest of the battle line was porous due to the wide front, some Punic heavies managed to get behind the front but were dispatched by elephants, cavalry and skirmishers. Despite an early Antigonid advantage, the Punics fought valiantly to narrow the points gap. In the end, pikes proved their superiority over the Punic infantry. Good game!

wellsonian (German/Swiss) defeated (or maybe a draw) with Hscic, 66-56

Very fun game. He won the Cav battle, but I won the infantry scrum. And luckily the battle ended before his Knights crushed me.

Division B
Najanaja (Hannibal in Italy) beat Garokan (Numidian with Romans) 63 - 53.

Looked like a comfortable win for Carthage until the last couple of turns when a savage counter attack by the Numidians, spearheaded by the light cav, evened up the score. Good game.

The majority of players are ahead of schedule with reference to completed games.

Hopefully this is now up to date. Anderacos vs Afromullet's score was a draw not a win for Anderacos.

By the end of August, I expect all to have completed 5 games. If not then we may well start making adjudications.
Division A

Based on average scores it look as if the winner will be decided between tyronec and harvey. Tyronec has now gone 5 games unbeaten. Harvey vs TC will be the Division A Final.

Division B

Oscarius leads the way. However the winner will probably be decided between Triarii (unbeaten in 5 games) and Kroche, especially as they have to play one another.

Division C

Tomoegozen just does not want to move and remains in first place. The inevitable cannot be changed though and so either Ulysisgrunt or wellsonian will win the division. Ulysisgrunt's victory over wellsonian gives him the slightest of edges
