This was a battle of two flanks as the Venetian heavy infantry with dismounted maa and pikes were about to overwhelm the Bohemian infantry and wagonson one flank, whilst on the other flank the Bohemian mounted wing defeated the Venetian knights and caused a chain rout of crossbowmen, which led to the Venetian defeat.

The closest win I think I have ever had. Single figure difference throughout the game. I had more double drops than Randy but I had more rallies from rout. In the penultimate turn Randy was 61 - 57 in the lead. I managed one of those rallies and ended up winning.

Having lost a few very close games already, I'll take this one.

Interesting and historic match up.
Two large areas of rough ground just off centre of map were important.
Neapolitan's brought a lot of skirmishers who out-shot a couple of Venetian x-bow units while mounted Neapolitians went right around the rough avoiding best Venetian troops and swiss mercenaries until it was too late for them to affect the outcome.

Danish had the advantage of enclosed fields although at foot of a hill.
The Berbers came on sending archers and x-bows against the fields and the quality spears towards the more open Danish left. The spears had some success against the Scandinavian foot at the edge of the enclosures but a Danish attack uphill on the lights and archers was able to overwhelm them and their MI and MC support. The fire-power of the mixed Scandinavian foot helping significantly.
The result came just before most of the good muslim spears could get involved.
