Deadtorius, you seem to have given me Royalist Raiders rather than Royalist 43-44, was this intentional?
Egads!! Sorry Doyley I could have sworn that said Royalists... not raiders.

I will put up a new challenge for you, PW: oops

You want me to delete the raider challenge or do you want to play it out for the fun of it as it wont count anyway?

I think it would be best deleted. :)

A wise decision :)

As previously mentioned, I've removed the movement rules from the first post as I don't think they add anything to the party.

Deadtorius, I can't seem to get into the game with the password you gave earlier, has it been changed or am I doing something wrong?

Edit: I am in now, my fault. I was trying to use the old password

Any thoughts on my suggestion for an extra 100 bonus points for each group of 3 controlled adjacent regions?

I think the problem is that the password needs to be 5 characters long at least and oops has only 4 characters, so probably Deadtorius would have top set up a new game

Yes indeed. I like the idea that we can add significance to territorial blocks by adding an incentive (bonus points). I think I'd like to run for a couple of turns with purely mood-based bonuses to make sure the numbers don't skew the game too much. Once we're reasonably happy with the basic mechanism, I'd like to bring in some form of territorial bonus, quite possibly exactly as you have thought.

Did we have bonuses this round?

No, we will earn our first bonuses from the results of this round.

It's close in Scotland, but my game in South Wales has just been somewhat stymied by a flanking force arriving behind the Veteran Horse I was holding back and ripping through them like a hot knife through butter. Talk about random!

Well it *was* close in the Highlands! 23/17 was the best we did. then we sort of decided to go home for neeps and tatties. Ended a 54/28 loss I think. Well played Doyley50!

Big loss in South Wales after the "Hand of God" cavalry intervention with auto-flank attacks across my left flank that I could neither predict nor prevent. Well played turenne. Dialogue box obscured the result at the end but it was something like 53/5.

Thanks for a hard fought game Waldorf. I thought things were going awry, and then it all seemed to come together in the last moves.
A dust begrimed cavalier has just brought news of a glorious victory for the King in the Highlands. Not dismayed by the fact that they were outnumbered the Royalists set to with a will. The cavalry on both flanks made short work of the Scottish horse on their puny nags, but the infantry battle in the centre was very much in doubt until the Royalist horse swung inwards and created mayhem and confusion among the ranks of the dour Covenanters. God save the King!

South Wales. Turenne 5 % against Waldorf 53% . Yes the unsuspected flank march of 2 units of royalist cavalry just behind a line of parlementarian cavalry was the key of the large victory. Apologizes for the nasty trick but i also was very surprised when the cavalry suddenly appears. (i was planning an infantry attack)

The member of Parliament for Plymouth begs to report a victory for Parliament in the South West.

This battle was extremely hard-fought, partly due to the elite of the Royalist infantry cowering behind hedges while their less experienced comrades were left to face the righteous fury of our men in the open. Our men advanced singing psalms, and notwithstanding the loss of many godly men upon the field (who no doubt are now enjoying eternal bliss in the bosom of our Saviour), Parliament prevailed. (49% to 63% - 14% difference).

I fear that the outcome of the battle was too close to have much effect on the ungodly sentiments of the South-West, being as it is a hotbed of malignants and Morris dancers.

Thanks to Aryaman for a very exciting game, the outcome of which was in doubt until the end.

So, that was the horrible sound, not only the rebels lack any grace and elegance, they also lack musical abilities, so our men deserted rather than suffer the torment.
Thanks for the great game, I learnt a couple of tricks and Ihope you didn“t learnt any more :)

The Lord General of the Mid-East wishes to report a glorious Parliamentary victory over the tyrant's lackeys.

Both armies advanced with vigour, but borne up by righteous wrath, our men put the cowardly hirelings of the King to flight. (7% to 51% - 44% difference).

We also took into our custody a number of scantily clad young women who appeared to be filling a very large slipper-bath in the Royalist commander's tent. We dread to think what debauchery that unworthy had planned for his evening's entertainment had the outcome of the battle been different.

These young women have all been adopted into godly families, where they will be taught the virtues of modesty, and the art of sewing plain, unadorned garments in complete silence.

Amazing battle in the North against Ironcald; Decision in doubt!
At first all seemed well for Parliament....
Our horse seized what I though was the key to the field, a hill on my right.
From there, I swept away the Royalist hose on my right, and was soon ahead by a score of 23 to 8...
Then, as my reserves raced down the will to sweep around the rear of the Royal host, one Royal foot unit on the edge of the hill attacked by center and THREE of my units broke!
I regained the initiative and the Royalists lifted their hats and were about to leave the field when things reversed again. Our front lines (what's left of them) have traded place, and casualties for both sides near 50 each.

Truly, as the great enlightenment political philosopher & Indian Mystic Yogi Berra said: "It ain't over 'till the fat lady sings".

Decision still in doubt
