I'm in a pretty close game as allies versus John T as germans, my winning streak (because thats all it is) could come to an end soon, as my disorganized attack over the bridge is at risk of breaking down or being stopped...

I am also available to start my remaining games if desired.

Allies (JonC) won against Germans (JohnTindall). Masterful combined tactics overwhelmed me despite his leaving his left flank open.

Jcb989 (allies) and I have three turns to go. Still hanging in the balance. I suspect he's preparing an infantry rush for his third flag but will it be Watchtowers or Road?

A tough game that he was dominating until a sneaky 88 got two tanks up the wazoo in one turn. His attack recoiled and now he's regrouping.

Against jbc989 I was holding him off with an elite Stug. He had a Shermie in the open. Aimed shot by me, 63% overall chance of kill. Failed. Reaction shot killed the Stug. Nothing left between the Shermies and the last required flag (or is there...?)

"Sullied"? Hardly - Germans (johntindall) defeated Allies (jcb989) by the slimmest of margins and a lucky roll.

I was down to an immobile 88, some mortars, a Volksgrenadier unit and two units at the Watchtowers. Oh yeah - and a truck. He had 2 (?) Shermies and a Bren carrier guarding the River Crossing, some inf sitting on the Road flag and other units guarding his HQ.

My last turn: His Bren carrier sauntered past the 88 with disdain, parked on the road and shot up my truck. That mucked me up because Plan "A" was to use the mortars to create a corridor of smoke to attempt to grab the River Crossing flag. But that doesn't work when the truck is burning (would've been fun to try though!)

Plan B was for the Volksgrendier to assault the Road flag. I moved them up, they took the hits, down to 65 morale, rebuilt with Rally and First Aid and assaulted at...41%. Odds went my way this time. He couldn't get to the flag and the Germans claimed a technical victory.

A very good game and I'm very glad it's over.

lol.. darn those volkspeople to heck. My last-minute mistake was that I moved a prefectly good 8-man squad away from that road flag and out of defensive firing position, they would have been in support of that poor 4-man crew out in the road... ah well! the game was great, very closely fought the whole way. Thought we were done for earlier in the game when those two fireflies went up with bananas in their tail pipes..

We're closing on a final victor for Hillman, and it's looking a lot like Jcb riding his twin M5's CHIP's-style... unless Al pulls off some very fancy double KO's!

I realise that several of you are already involved in Arctic's Ortona tourney (not an attention-lite map, lol) and probably others too...

So, votes please...

1. Who is up for continuing on to Carpiquet* immediately, as soon as Hillman finishes?
2. Who would prefer to wait on Carpiquet* for a couple of weeks, giving the Ortona guys a chance to play out there first?
3. Who would prefer to bring in some new blood?

Let me know your preferences (sure, combinations are allowed )

*So you're all forewarned, Carpiquet airfield is an asymmetric scenario, where the Allies enjoy MUCH more units, but the Germans hold seriously strong positions and MUCH higher quality units... Just like reality (to comply with the results from your last votes )
