More issues....Here is email I sent you Jon....
Jon, please give me a link to most current DL for GJS44(one with changes)
I tried with the one I thought most recent(
http://bit.ly/BA88gjs) and I am not sure if thats the one Random put in...But, when we started there was an audible garble...and the units on my map were unrecognizable and bunched up...couldnt even tell what was what. (Graphics err look)
Also, there was the warning banner that said our scripts werent matching...not sure which one that Random loaded....
Can you please send me the right one...maybe also send this email to Random(Francois) so he gets the same one as me...Try this again...
Anyone???
Thanks,
Mike

Salut François! Safer to delete the full GJS'44 campaign and reload using the same BA link as Mike. That way, we're certain that everything is identical... All of the other matched scenarios seem to be working... We'll get there!!

Hey Mike,
http://bit.ly/BA88gjs is absolutely the correct URL... Go for it!

I would like to say that, that's absolutely impossible, but the deployment phase is very sensitive...
Is there any chance that you might have accidentally left-clicked a square while you had that misplaced unit selected?... There are a couple of beach squares that are available to you (unavoidable when drawing with multiple large rectangles) that would be foolish for Germans to deploy into...
If it's an obvious booboo, you could ask Jcb for another restart? But I leave this to you guys...
If you're absolutely convinced that the deploy moved a unit, then I need to investigate this for other games... It's using Merr's code unchanged, which has worked faultlessly through three rounds of GJS... Let's all watch out, but please keep me informed...
No, I may have inadvertantly miss-clicked adn dropped it 3 squares away. Luckily it didn't put that unit in danger. No need to restart again

Just a bit odd.

lol.
It almost seems a shame GL88 that you can't see into the Allied invasion forum.
I am posting occassional situation reports there from the fly-overs covering the beach landing.

Mike/Random, I'm going to ask BOTH OF YOU to delete and re-download please.
I've checked everything. It all works fine and I've just uploaded as of now, 00h45 CET.
Goodnight Gents...

Hehe... Uh oh? Does Patton have Morge in his iron grip?
Hey, obviously u can't now (loose lips sink ships) but please keep really interesting screenshots/tactics and post here after the battle. I (and non players) would love to see!!
Good luck both.

I downloaded from the
http://bit.ly/BA88gjs link
Certainly with my iPad, I did note some issues:
1) Deleting the MP campaign does not delete any ready to be played MP games - all it does (logically) is now show such games as 'unknown....' Etc
2) when accessing the URL link, the BA app closes down - sometimes but as with all such 'bugs' (the butterfly analogy), sometimes it does not
3) when you succeed the new, updated file does at least show a version number, ie in this case v1.1

Thanks for the feedback Leci. Yep, much safer if we all use Slith's built-in campaign loader. Instructions here ->
viewtopic.php?f=87&t=39073#p365578
This will load up new campaigns & scenarios. All of our started games are held on Slith's servers remotely. So we can update the BA software or campaigns, and so long as both players stay updated to the same version of BA software & campaigns, everything will all work ok, even for already started games...
leci wrote:2) when accessing the URL link, the BA app closes down - sometimes but as with all such 'bugs' (the butterfly analogy), sometimes it does not
Intriguing that your BA iPad app sometimes crashes when loading from the external URL... I've tested on an iPad 2 and it seems ok, so it's worth telling Pip if you're having occasional problems... BA v2.0.7 should have fixed this?
leci wrote:3) when you succeed the new, updated file does at least show a version number, ie in this case v1.1
As a humble, wholly non technical person, seeing poor Mike and Random suffer getting their versions matched, it has suddenly dawned on me why designers include version numbers, lol... The correct version of GJS'44 for all of us is v1.1... If I make any future updates, I'll always add a new version number so everyone knows exactly what's happening...
Thanks your help Leci. Btw, I just got back and returned our two Sword games in progress. You can tell Rommel it's safe to return from Ulm now...

Hey Mike, Thanks for your PM. Just checked mortars. ARGH you're right!! Apparently, GJS mortar teams got reduced from 4-man to 3-man on June 6th of original GJS (which we all knew about because 4-man was way too tough!!) ... but what some of us (you & me, lol) didn't realise was that GJS mortar teams got further reduced from 3-man to 2-man on June 8th of original GJS...
Hmmm... Sorry, I just based GJS'44 on most of our core GJS files... sprinkling on some pixie dust for improved maps to match the new Strat Campaign Map, more sophisticated wider dual deploy, fixing a few errors in squads.csv, and getting it onto iPads...
Can you live with 2-man mortars for June 6th? Now that we've started with 2-man mortars, we should ask to see if folks want to make any mods... Perhaps making infantry tougher too, now that they realise what weaklings they are, lol...?
But let's finish June 6th first? Agreed?
