Hi chaps
Any news from games being played at the mo please.
Take note some challenges have not been accepted. Captains could you contact your players by pm and email please. Also the issuers of the challenges please pm your opponents and email them if you have their email addresses.
Would like to finish this before May 1st as The Temporary League will begin.
Has anybody heard anything from Mike/Triarius? I am a bit concerned as Liverpool beat his beloved Everton in the FA Cup:)
I am going to email him.
Another potential army combo for the future would be
Mid Republican Roman Later (equal amounts of hastati and pricipes, not even sure the Romans in that period wore any metallic armour?), Pontic Early, Gallic Later Lowlands, Bosporan Early and Dacians. Maybe with no allies?

Ok, I've been a little slow with my turns but we are now at turn 10:
Alexandrain Macedonian (ROTW)- Fedem 36/50 vs Later Archie Persians (Europe) – Hidde 16/50
Last turn was a massive success for the Persians. All but obliterated the Macedonian cavalry that made up their left flank.
I now have to regroup all my victorious cavalry and start looking for a way to get the rest of the points I need.
Scattered over much of the rest of the map several Persian BG:s will go down but hopefully in a slow enough pace so that I might reach the BP total first.

Alexandrain Macedonian (ROTW)- Fedem 60/50
vs Later Archie Persians (Europe) – hidde 34/50
After loosing their cavalry the slower Macedonians could only pick off some isolated Persian BG:s here and there.
Without fear of anarchy and with evade as a safety messaure the Persian could move into position, wait for archers to soften up the opposition and then attack...
I like this Persian army much more now than I did before the tournament

My Macs are stuck in with ianows' LAP dancers. Things have become decidedly non-shooty for the Persians who are mightily defending their king who is reportedly otherwise engaged in his camp. It's about Turn 10.

Woah, Woah, thrice Woah! The Great King is dead, downed in his bath. The Trojan Rubberducky, a gift from our enemy is the number one suspect.
The Greeks have swept sideways across the battlefield, not once letting their foe past their wall of spears. The Persians finally decided to make a stand on the wooded hill near their camp but this has had little effect in stopping the Greek juggenaut. In the last turn the Persian Inspired general charged the Greek Inspired general and whilst winning the combat, also lost his life (no rubberduckies were involved). Advantage Deeter and North America

I have pmd and emailed him a few times now so not sure what the delay is. If he doesn't pick up soon. I may well ahve to give the game to you. That could be a real bummer as well as it could give you the extra point you may well need to win this comp, that is North America.
Any news from Matt and Graham, also all other games

Just concluded my Mac (40/53) vs. LAP dancer (59/57) game. Once the Persians decided to hold ground, Mac hoplites and pikes were able to grind them down, taking their camp and killing their CnC.
Ianiow put up a spritited defence though, racking up plenty of kills before routing. In one of the nastier moments, a Persian cav unit evaded through several others causing a chain route that helped the Macs considerably. Oddly, the Persian camp went away with no Greeks adjacent, although one nearby hoplite got an A and couldn't be moved.
I generaly hate HF vs. skirm matchups, but this one (mainly because I won) was quite enjoyable. Thanks, ianiow! Go team NA.

Mike (Triarius) picked up the challenge yesterday but nothing beyond that so far. Matt mentioned that he thought my game would determine the match over the weekend so I suspect they are close to done if not actually finished.
