Khost: Hahaha...their heavy rich oligarch army shouldn't be whining.

No casualties, but some movement and shooting and a last second victory, yeah, I had to smile when I saw this situation and thought...oh, this could be close.
Joking aside, okay, the ISI are a bit hard to kill, but I think it's too early to change the mission, I remember the China campaign, which I find harder. If you lose, try again like I did.

You still have 5 missions ahead of you.

Well, I see it a little differently. I'm not sure whether you translated the texts beforehand. Therefore a short explanation. They can only deploy a limited number of their core troops at the beginning, the rest of their troops are practically still traveling from the east, so the story goes. So you have to think carefully about which of your units to deploy, especially at the beginning. I saw in the replay that you are missing attack helicopters as firefighters and tanks as breakwaters.
The control point and the village in the east are the first targets, you will notice that after conquering it the rebels will be satisfied with it for the time being and most of them will not advance any further.
By capturing the objectives, the rebels automatically gain prestige points, so they can buy tanks, which I think is an interesting side effect.
While Imeror held their nerve here, their tactics in the beginning were aimed at defending the control point at all costs, that was my impression, so they slowly but surely lost control of the remaining objectives.
I have read several articles on the subject and the rebels used different tactics. Sometimes with only 10 men and other times with several thousand at once.

I seem to remember that a certain Usbek once wrote to me “don't make the missions too easy, otherwise nobody will play them” or something like that.

The rebels capture the checkpoint to prevent their reinforcements from coming to their aid later from the east.

They're not allowed to let the rebel leader into the airfield. Normally, he gets to the edge, takes his hostages, and disappears back into the mountains, but once he's at the airfield, it's very difficult to get him out again because of his extremely high defense stats.

Where is the artillery? Maybe it's your tactic of wanting to do everything with infantry.

You have to capture the leader in Search and Destroy, not kill him. He needs to be taken to the base and then victory is assured. Again, I recommend translating beforehand, there are some special missions to make it more interesting. Before I play the 4th US mission from Imeror I have to translate it first, I've seen there's a lot of text there, so I feel the same way.

A little tip: if you see an (A) or other markings on my maps, most of the time something has to stay alive and be placed there.

Well I will replay this map again, but how do I capture him if he shoots back dies or surrenders and disappears ?

This is also described. You have to kill his two

security forces

who are stationed there, whereupon he changes color like a chameleon in the next round, becomes tame and follows them.

The disadvantage of such a story is that the player now practically has an enemy unit in his ranks and can even exchange it for a better one from the enemy camp. Or interesting, who knows.
You can even use this unit once in a mission, try it out.

In Mission Khost, they are allowed to eliminate all Pakistani secret service fighters. Just for your information.

My wife is starting to take an interest in the game.
