3. I tried a new install with v1.31 and when I started AK, the map was all black and PzC unresponsive.

4. I copied "C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Panzer Corps" to the root of my C: drive, update to v1.32 (using the steam version), copied the BE mod then your mod (all latest versions). The mod worked fine, but I still got the same result (as in the screenshot).

Hm, loading the turn 2 savegame and ending the turn works normally on my end.
Could you upload a savegame from turn 3 or so, after the bug has occured. That might give my a clue whether it is a display bug or how functionality is affected as well.
It could be related to the zone changes from 1.31 to 1.32, but I do not see how that could happen.

So far I'm sorry to report that I have no idea where that issue comes from.
Yeah, 1.31 does not work anymore, I now can confirm that one at least.

But with regards to the victory hex graphic being sprinkled all over, I have no idea what would cause this issue without access to the inner workings of PzC.

I recently also investigated the transport bug in the Italy mod by Uhu. I can at least "influence/partialy hide" that one, but also have no idea how to really solve it with the limited game file access.

Yep, must be related to those two scripts.
The first one in turn 3 is supposed to make all hexes in zone 1 into primary objectives.
The later one is supposed to remove all modifiers (including objectives) from the hexes in zone 1.

I don't understand why that works perfectly fine for all my tried out installs, while it does not work for any of your installs.
Somehow on you computer zone 1 seems to be "everything", while on my computer zone 1 includes only those hexes which are defined in the scenario editor as zone 1.

Perhaps patch 1.32 messed things up (this patch is specifically made to extend the scenario editor zone limit from 32 to 256). Which was necessary in order to add more AI zones in the great BE scenario.
But that still does not explain why patch 1.32 works differently for each of us.

edit: Wait a minute, unless we are using different "versions" of patch 1.32?

I had the exact same issue a few years and traced it back to my 1.32 exe file. I copied in a new one and that solved the problem. I would look there first.

Good thinking! I couldn't check yesterday as I was playing in a bowls tournament all day in the blazing sun and when I finally arrived home I just needed to sit in the garden with a beer

The page you linked to above is where I originally downloaded the patch from.

However, I visited that page again and I see a note from Rudankort that he had to fix and rebuild the binaries and a separate link to the patch. I think my version of the patch is the original one not the updated one (which to aid clarity should have had a new increment), which may explain the issue? Unfortunately, the link no longer works. Could you post the zip with the 3 x 1.32 patches in please?

The downgrading of accessibility and user friendliness on the internet is such an annoying trend...

Great news, I used the 1.32 exe in the link and no more victory hex spamming! Well done for remembering that the 1.32 patch had more than one version, I had no idea; I would expect a different version to be 1.32a or something. What are the htm files in the UI folder (in the patch zips) for?

Agreed, it should have been 1.33 or at least 1.32a or so.

- Some fewer unit surrender prestige pinatas, several changes/partial reverts to scenario prestige rewards as compensation
- British India scenario gets some more Allied units
- Arabia scenario now starts later, on 12.Nov.1943
- East Africa scenario now starts later, on 07.Jan.1944
- On Road to India scenario now starts later, on 27.Apr.1944
- British India scenario starts on 06.Jan.1945

Hello Locarnus one of the reasons I am hesitant to install your Mod, is the 1.32 patch.
I would prefer not to do it, for technical reasons.

Until 1.31, the PzC editor offered only 32 "zones" for scripts.
Enough for normal PzC scenarios, but a serious limitation for a huge scenario like Battlefield Europe.
McGuba expertly made the most of those 32, by double and triple usage, but that only goes so far.
Patch 1.32 simply increases the available script zones from 32 to 256...

And even though I only made minimal use of those additional zones so far (eg implementing a workaround allowing players to "purchase" scenario transports, which is otherwise impossible), there is no going back.
It seems that once a scenario is saved using the 1.32 editor, it needs the 1.32 exe to run.
Thus my changes to Africa Corps also require the 1.32 exe, simply because I exclusively used the 1.32 editor for the last months.
edit: Or perhaps it is not dependent on the edited scenarios, but instead on some of the files I had to integrate between 1.32 and the Addon/BE. Anyway, it is not feasible for me to disentangle that while also working on the Addon itself.
So overall 1.32 unlocks a significant development barrier for the huge BE scenario and Africa Corps has to tag along to keep things manageable for me.


But then again, I strongly recommend a separate PzC install for every mod anyway.

As you know from your own video guide, PzC mod installs are annoyingly tedious.
But once you have a clean 1.32 PzC install with the Generic Mod enabler (point 4 of 7 in the step-by-step guide), you can just use that as a baseline and make a copy of it for every mod you wish to install.

Nice new addon Locarnus!!! Everytime you release a new one it feels like a brand new mod. I like the new feature to buy ships abd tranport limitations.

The "copied" game produces sometimes a DRC error, or something like that which means copyright issues, which I try to avoid.

I've had CRC error before. The solution that works for me is to reinstall Panzer Corps Gold and then use the new install to make copies for each mod. I have a different Panzer Corps install for each major mod (ones that feature new graphics/sounds/units). I have used GME in the past, but I don't use it now. Hope that helps.

Yeah, I had issues as well before starting from a clean slate again.
I feel like GME works well enough, once I included it in my basic install (and thus do not have to redo it for every mod).
My step-by-step Panzer Corps mod preparation guide might not be great or comfortable, but it does work well so far.

Mostly another aircraft balancing pass, but also several new variants and versions of existing airframes.

Don't be fooled by the high attack value of the Fw 190 A-8/R2 Sturmbock variant. Those do more damage, eg good against bombers, but also take several more casualties against contemporary enemy fighters.

Also more caution is required against those improved soviet fighters, do not leave your anti air in reserve for AK Caucasus.
