The Urartu utilized terrain very effectively to their advantage before Spartan close-infantry could gain the foothold to turn the tide against them. A tough grind, well played.

The Poles incrementally turned the German infantry right flank while distracting the German cavalry on the left long enough to gain sufficient momentum and finally turn the tide to Polish favor. A tense match fought well

This was a really good game with Bob playing very well. The difference was I had a lot more lancers and HF than Bob's army. I reckon the score would be very similar if Bob had used the Byzantines

And there we stood, the byzantine with a small hill and a couple woodland islands set off to the east, another copse of trees further west and in there was set a strike force of cav with light horse, some light skirmishers, tagmatics and nomads hidden in the forest. At the start of the battle, did my jaw just drop, an enormous andalusian host! They came full forward, my paltry force sweating in wait, but behind the woods directly to my east did I have another strike force of cav (klibanophoroi, tagmatics, thematics and nomads.) Only when the enemy horde came close to envelopment did the eastern strike force break wood line and charge full force, ramming into their left and breaking through a chain route! Same time, the western strike force broke wood line, the center getting ground but holding unto victory!

The Armenians were a few points ahead the whole game right up to the last turn. Several stubborn Armenian units finally ran out of men and broke taking me over the finish line. A very hard-fought close game. Thanks dragmio.

The battle line stretched between patches of rough ground and marsh, which severely limited the use of landsknechts keils, who occupied a position in the center. The Irish tried to distract or ignore them for as long as possible, while the actual battle was fought on both flanks.

Division B

lydianed (Jewish) defeated random27 (Pergamene + Greek allies) 61-50

As the score suggests, a close fight. Skirmishing took a heavy toll on both sides with the Greeks having the better of the early exchanges. The Jewish left was pressed very hard but to held on while managing to repulse Pergamene horse and pikes on the right flank. The Pergamene's started to fall back and losses remained high on both sides. Dice gods got involved as they always seem to with some unfair double drops and some remarkable rallies which helped both sides. In the end, the Superior Jewish foot proved a little more resilient and eked out the win. Thanks for a good game.
