AK: As I always say, anyone can use all the stuff I upload here in any way he likes. So, there is no problem if you decide to change, modify or use parts of any of the icons posted here. :-)

Now, back to the British aircraft department... Here is the Avro Lancaster bomber in four schemes: European regular (vanilla game brown), SE European, plain desert and SE desert.

Enjoy!

A late war, B-17G in a bare aluminum look... Late in the war, because of the very low threat from Luftwaffe fighters, it was found that stripping the bombers from its camo paint gave the following advantages: A reduction in aircraft empty weight, reduced drag which gave a little more speed/range or more payload for the same range...

This icon was made taking as a base the one present in the latest release of the Battlefield Europe mod v2.0 (thanks McGuba!!)

A new member of the "what if" Pz 38(d) family: Vollkettenaufklärer 38(d) Katzchen, which was an armored personnel carrier, more or less a second world war era M113, but still, without armored roof.
Enjoy!!

Another highly "what if" unit, member of the 38(d) family: the Panzerwerfer 38(d) artillery rocket launcher. This vehicle was never built, nor existed in a project form. It is just a "plausible invention" from my mind... :-) I think it would have been technically feasible to mount the ten tube 15 cm Nebelwerfer rocket launcher as used on the Panzerwerfer 42 on an Aufklärungspanzer 38(d) hull (in case that enough 38(d) hulls could be produced to cover the demand for recon, tank destroyer, etc... vehicles). The longer hull provides internal volume to store additional rockets, and the rear mounted launcher gives place for a reloading hatch to be located on the hull top for the crew to reload the launcher tubes.

Well, this is "what if..." is it for... 8)

Hello AK:

Thanks for your nice words... Also, taking as a base the icon you posted for the Krupp Waffenträger, I made another version of it, which had six roadwheels per side instead of four ones, and I think it was also a little wider. Here is the Einheitswaffenträger 38(d)... I hope you (and everybody) like it!

Another member of the Pzkpfw 38(d) family, a fictional design... The Aufklärungspanzer 38(d) mit 5cm Kwk39. This "what if" vehicle mates an Aufklärungspanzer 38(d) hull with the turret used by the Sdkfz.234-8 rad wheeled recon vehicle...I also upload a line drawing of said design in order to be used as a big unit portrait in AKRebel's style :-)

Enjoy!!! 8)

Hi guille !

What do you think about make few icons "broken units" ?
For example : Sov T-35, KV-2, T-34. Ger Tiger I, Tiger II, Ferdinand.
May be air units :Ju 52.
Thanx.

Hello Yrfin:

Your suggestion makes me think about the lot of new work that would be necessary to make icons for destroyed/damaged units, besides the operative ones... I think a better idea would be to make skins with burned and or blackened spots (just like a new tipe of camo) to "paint" the unit you want to give the "damaged/destroyed" look. Besides, some special templates could be made to add flames and smoke columns in order to apply to those icons. Its just a quick thought, but I think it could be made without re-making a whole bunch of units (you know... you are now asking for destroyed KV-2, Tiger, etc... then someone else will ask for some others, and so on...)

In fact, I prefer to spend my limited free time in making new "operative" unit icons or improving the existing ones.

Now, the time for some icons:

This time, a replacement for the DFS-230 assault glider, in its "in flight" and "landed" variants, with regular and desert colors... Enjoy!!
