Division B
Kroche (Aragonese 1450-1479AD) defeated Jtrillodmp (Castilian 1476-1492AD) 66 : 29
Rough terrain and a wood on the Aragonese left saw both sides place their medium foot there to contest it. Right side was fairly open with a small hill in the Aragonese deployment area. Overall line up was very similar but the Aragonese were unnerved by the superior Swiss pike unit of the Castilians giving them the edge in the clash of pikes to come and likewise their armoured medium foot about to attack the rough and wooded terrain.
Match was very even but Castilians over extended into the wood and were put under severe pressure and their pike line on the right was undone by the success of their Swiss pike over extending to be flanked by Aragonese crossbowmen and taken out of the fight.
Well played to Jtrillodmp who deployed a strong list and was unfortunate in some events especially in having the better of the melee between 3 pike units each until the Swiss pike advanced into a flank threat.
History was retold and it was Castille who merged with Aragon

Kroche (Aragonese 1450-1479AD) defeated GraftMalt (Berber (Murabit) 1087-1147AD) 58 : 31
Map narrowed due to impassable water on the right. Shallow hill ran horizontally from the water's edge to the centre of the field with some rough terrain patches on the right side.
Aragonese went heavy on the right, protected by the water, with medium foot to advance on to the hill and function in the rough. Defensive spears deployed to protect the left flank.
Berbers deployed multiple light horse and an extended line of Muslim Spearmen.
Could the Aragonese right overpower the units opposite them and then aid their comrades set to hold back the Muslim line? Ultimately, yes.
Initially the Aragonese right made progress and their protection on the left held firm against the Veteran Muslim spear and it looked like an easy,if very lucky victory.
However the Aragonese right started to get bogged down by rough terrain and the expert use of camel troops hampering their Men at Arms; this was coupled with the Veteran Muslim Spear starting to break apart the Aragonese left.
Battle was touch and go until the Aragonese won on the right and secured victory. Lots of extended melees between veteran spear and pike with one epic melee seeing an Aragonese pike auto break and the victorious Veteran Muslim spear unit auto breaking the next turn. GG to GraftMalt

The Danish foot managed to get in amongst the Andalusian archers and spears before the swarms of light troops flanked them. The Danish foot were helped enormously by a pursuing knight unit causing chain routs.

A narrow pass and a river in front - with the missile armed Scandinavian foot the Danes were just able to outshoot the Castillians before forcing the river.

On a battlefield with an open center flanked by two rough areas, the Berber camel lancers defeated the German left. Fortunately for the Germans, the Landsknecht keils smashed the Berber center in time to prevent the German center from being flanked. Thanks for the game.

The Armenians managed to avoid the pesky veteran Dailami as much as possible and take advantage of their superiority in heavy cavalry. Thanks for the game!

Div D
Janohito using Assyrians with Egyptian Allies defeated wzfcns who did take Chinese (Han) 99BC-23AD with Xiongnu Allies. Final score 47-19.
Map was almost completely even with a rough patch in the center and a few forests scattered around. Assyrians went for infantry heavy force composition while Chinese troops relied heavily on mass cavalry provided by their allies. Forest allowed Assyrians to anchor their line and prevent sweeping flanking maneuver. Chinese choose to charge with their cavalry attacking first before infantry could engage. This tactic proved ineffective since Assyrian medium and heavy infantry met them with a heavy barrage of arrows disrupting and later fragmenting and breaking cavalry before charge could reach their lines. When Chinese infantry arrived for battle, their cavalry on left flank had already been mostly routed and they had to meet Assyrian infantry head on. In the end Assyrians broke through in the center thanks to their numerical and quality advantage.

On a constrained map with a large water feature on one flank and small woods on the other, two very similar German armies faced off. The infantry decided the battle and the German City NW, unfortunately, had a pike block double drop. That unhinged their battle line and the German City SE took advantage. Thanks for the game.

Bagatrix Andalusian managed a draw against EDB1815 with his Milanese army 49-51 in EDB's favour.
It was very tough for Milan to catch those pesky light Cav and the terrain favoured Anadalusia and her merry men
Great game fell a bit bad as in a few more turns EDB would have gotten 2 more units and won mind you my boys rallied so often it was getting embarrassing
Thanks

Division B
lydianed (Jewish) defeated Bagatrix1805 (Macedonian & Greeks) 51-23
Facing up to each other across a narrow valley in the centre, both sides pushed their left wings forward. For the Macedonian, their pikes got held up partly by some zealots on a hill but also by weight of numbers as the Jews were able to keep feeding cheap troops into the fight on an overlap. On the Jewish left, the Greek Thureos and Thorakiti had some bad luck against a large number of zealots and irregular foot who achieved an unfair number of double-drops. This collapsed the Macedonian right and allowed the Jews to carry the day. A good battle in which Bagatrix was poorly served by fate.
