Classical Indian

Instructions

In this section players have been allocated 3 armies (see the next post in this thread for details) and they will play 3 matches with each of these 3 armies. The fixture list will be published in stages, the first three rounds of matches will be released on February 1st, the second three on February 15th, and the final three on March 1st. Players are free to play matches in any order once they have been released.

Either player may set up the challenge in this section. Remember to PM your opponent as well as placing the challenge and password in this thread.

For matches in this section players will select "Open Battle" and will field a "Medium" army and choose a "Medium" battlefield unless otherwise directed. Players are free to customise their army before each battle so "Default" is the correct Force Selection option. Terrain will always be "Pot Luck" unless otherwise specified. There are no exceptions to this standard set-up for a match. Players will also need to download the latest version of jomni's Silk Road multiplayer mod (version 1.1).

If a match is set-up incorrectly for any reason then it must be re-started as soon as possible.

A new scoring system will be trialled in this section . . .

4pts - win
2pts - tie
1pt - draw
0pts - loss

+1 winning bonus point if you win a match by 30pts or more (e.g. 40-10 or 50-20)
+1 losing bonus point if you lose a match by less than 20pts (e.g. 41-60 or 45-64)

The final % scores for each player are taken from the in-battle display in the top left-hand corner of the screen and not the Final Losses screen that appears after the battle has ended where losses are adjusted for wounded and deserted troops.

Reporting the result of a match is the responsibility of the winning player. However, if you are the loser in a match and notice that the result has not been posted within 24 hours please post the result yourself. This helps to keep the league tables up to date.

Please be sure to familiarise yourself with both the Rules of Competition and the Players' Guide.

The Rules are here . . . http://www.slitherine.com/forum/viewtop ... 01&t=80755

Themed Event

Instructions

Matches in this section are played to a tight schedule and must be prioritised above matches from other sections. Matches will be allowed around 11 days for completion. Unfinished matches will be subject to adjudication.

The group stage matches are single battles, while the knockout stage of the tournament will use paired games ("mirror matches") to decide who progresses to the next round.

Either player may set up the challenge in this section. Remember to PM your opponent as well as placing the challenge and password in this thread.

For matches in this section players will select "Open Battle" and will field a "Medium" army and choose a "Medium" battlefield unless otherwise directed. Where players finish with the same number of points at the end of the group stage, the points aggregate from the matches between those player will be used to decide the final places in the group table. If this does not separate the players then lots will be drawn to determine which player(s) proceed to the next stage of the competition.

Please be sure to familiarise yourself with both the Rules of Competition and the Players' Guide.

The Rules are here . . . http://www.slitherine.com/forum/viewtop ... 01&t=80755

The armies that players have chosen for Classical antiquity and Late Antiquity will be posted tomorrow. I finished them off today but I just want to have one last look at them tomorrow morning. In the meantime, here is a statistic for you. There were 100 entries across the two sections: 47 players got their first choice selection; 41 players got their second choice selection; and just 12 players got their third choice selection. Nobody was asked to make a fourth choice.
