Rumours are spreading that the only one remaining among the Diadochi, Aetius39, has finally succumbed to enemy swords! :o Not yet confirmed in which battle though: against carpenkm or Warg1.

This would, if true, mean the end to the "Age of the Diadochi" and the end to this campaign, once this round is concluded. Given of course that one player controls more satrapies than the other players and thus becomes the winner. Otherwise, we may need to play more rounds to single out a winner.

It was against warg! I attacked a disrupted archer on difficult slope with hoplite, not realizing how bad the odds still were for me, and added the general then. He fell last turn.

4. deeter attacks SnuggleBunnies, using the army of Syria, in Kilikia.

Deeter defeats SnuggleBunnies 60-51

The armies met on a nearly featureless plain with only a small patch of rough which formed the hinge between Kilikian center and right. The Syrians made an all-out attack here which very nearly broke the Kilikians outright for a quick win. However, an isolated Kilikian pike unit formed square, and rather than simply masking it, Syrian pikes and elephants attacked and became bogged down for several turns. The Kilikians wasted no time in routing several Syrian units until the outcome became doubtful. With the square finally broken, the Syrians were able to turn and defeat more Kilikians, securing the victory. A tough fight and a near comeback for the Kilikians who shall now join the growing Macedonian empire. Well fought indeed.

3. SnuggleBunnies attacks deeter, using the army of Babylonia, in Mesopotamia.

A draw. Night falls with deeter ahead 3pts, 39-36.

1. Aetius39 attacks carpenkm, using the army of Indike, in Hyrkania.

Carpenkm beat aetius39 60-36

The Hyrkanians lined up with a patch of rough and marsh to the centre right on an otherwise flat plain. We refused our left wing and somehow managed to occupy the opponents cavalry whilst the ever useful Median spearmen beat up the Indike archers. A proper slug out then occured when the pike met, but later flanks finally won the day for Hyrkania.

I think Aetius was rushing it trying to finish before along holiday. I'm not sure that he will be able to play for a while which may mean the other battel cannot be finished.

Thanks, you’ll gain Aetius39‘s Parthyaia.

The concluded battles are now as follows:

1. Aetius39 attacks carpenkm, using the army of Indike, in Hyrkania. => carpenkm defeats Aetius39 60-36.
3. SnuggleBunnies attacks deeter, using the army of Babylonia, in Mesopotamia. => deeter draws with SnuggleBunnies 39-36.
4. deeter attacks SnuggleBunnies, using the army of Syria, in Kilikia. => deeter defeats SnuggleBunnies 60-51.

while these are still outstanding:

2a. Warg1 attacks Aetius39, using the army of Gedrosia, in Karmania.
2b. carpenkm supports the attack of Warg1 upon Aetius39 in Karmania, using the army of Media.

You can post instead please. Please then also specify any fallen C-in-Cs in the battle.

Aetius39 and Warg1: could either of you please just, for the sake of good order, post the result of this concluded battle (so we can wrap this campaign up). Please then also specify whether any C-in-C has died. Thanks.

Because as it looks, Warg1 will gain the satrapy of Karmania from Aetius39, independent of the result of the remaining battle between Aetius39 and carpenkm, since the two attackers outnumber the sole defender, due to carpenkm's support of Warg1's attack (as the following applies: "... The attacker or the defender in the original attack gains the other player's satrapy-at-stake if the number of victors is the same on both sides and at least 1, the number of players on his side (i.e., he plus the players supporting him) is higher than the number of players on the other side...").

This would then leave Aetius39 with 7 satrapies, slightly ahead of SnuggleBunnies' 6, and, given that all C-in-Cs have now fallen in battle due to Aetius39's C-in-C's death and the campaign would end, enough for Aetius39 to claim the overall campaign victory.

Thanks for another exciting Dividing the Spoils tournament. Count me in if you do another DiSp! -- By far the most enjoyable of the FOG campaigns.

Glad that you enjoyed it! (Next time I’ll improve the map layout. :) ) I may launch it later in the year, maybe with fewer participants this time. We’ll see about the interest as well, among other players.

Thanks for setting up and guiding through this as always, Andreas!

This campaign ends in 313 BC, after 8 rounds. Aetius39 is the victor, controlling 7 satrapies!

With all existing players’ C-in-C’s now having fallen in battle, the condition to end the campaign has been met.

1. Aetius39, 7 satrapies.
2. SnuggleBunnies, 6 satrapies.
3. deeter, 5 satrapies.
4. carpenkm, 4 satrapies.
5. Warg1, 2 satrapies.
...
12. The rest, sadly forgotten.

Congratulations, Aetius39! And many thanks to you and the other ten participants (in addition to myself): hope you enjoyed it all! :)
