Division C
ahuyton (Greeks 460-281BC) won against Trogilus (Seleucids 166-125BC) 18%-44%
An interesting game fought around a village, actually much closer than the result suggests as Trogilus's pikes and warband were about to strike when the game ended.

Division B.
Ludendorf (Gauls 390-301 BC) beat Nijis (Romans 490-341 BC) 15-41.
This battle contained one of the foulest runs of luck I have ever seen in a FoG match, and particularly a hoplites vs warbands match. My troops seemed to shrug off every cohesion test and survive every impact, brushing aside multiple 50% chances, and Nijis's line basically imploded in the ensuing melee. He began to claw some ground back towards the end of the match, but it was pretty much over by that point. A fragmented warband breaking sealed the outcome for me.

Congrats.
Very important: Time Control reminder

I just want to flag up the first time control point on June 22nd at 9pm (BST). The Rules of Competition state,
"Players must register one result in each section they have entered within three weeks and three results within each section they have entered within five weeks (i.e. the halfway stage) of the opening of the tournament or they may be replaced by a player from the reserve list."
The first part of that sentence (in bold and underlined) has been introduced this season and its purpose is to identify any non-starters and any players who may have over-committed themselves in terms of the number of matches they are required to play. As you probably know, I do monitor things very closely so that I can intervene as early as possible to prevent minor issues developing into something more serious.
This first time-check will allow me some room for discretion. For example, a player who has entered four sections and has completed eight matches across three sections, and has no result posted by the deadline in the other section will probably just get a polite "hurry up" from me provided they do have a match underway in that other section. The reason for a lenient approach here is that the player is playing at a pace that suggests to me that they will get all their matches done on time by the end of the tournament.
On the other hand, if I have a player who has entered three sections and they have posted two results in one section and none in the other two, then they will almost certainly lose one of their sections, particularly if they do not have matches well-advanced in those two sections. In these circumstances they will be replaced by a reserve.
The reason for all this is to reduce inconvenience to players who are trying to set up matches against unresponsive players. There were a few problems in Season 1 because of this.

Group 3
Shawkhan2's Lydians defeated XLegione's Achaemenid Persians 21% to 57%.
This was the strongest defensive position I have successfully assaulted in quite a while. Rough terrain in the middle, covered by large forests on both flanks. Pretty close to the ultimate nightmare for a hoplite army. Finally started to break the sparabara on the last two turns.
