It was a maneuvered battle where, strangely enough, the heavy cavalry managed to prevail over the Swiss pikes. A bit of bad luck then for my opponent. Thanks for the game.

Andalusian cavalry swept onto either flank and pushed both Anglo-Saxon wings hard. The Anglo-Saxon centre was made up mainly of the hard-fighting Viking spears who pressed forward, trusting to the shieldwall to protect the flanks. The Andalusian horse made some gains but the Saxons were able to keep feeding men onto the flanks to keep them secure. This bought enough time for the Viking centre to reach the muslim main line and grind out a win. GG and with a bit more luck for the muslim horse would have turned out differently.

The Swiss and knights triumphed over the Andalusian infantry and archers but my foe fought a fairly successful guerrilla action with his plentiful light units and medium foot against my guns and more isolated units. With all my medium foot picked off he managed to get much of his forces hidden deep within the forests. With one turn to go I managed to corner a fragmented unit down and get over the 60 point try-line.

Well-fought, was very close to being a draw.
