Fysh (German (Imperial) 1155-1199 AD) defeated wzfcns (Hungarian 1200-1319 AD) 52-22

The German forces were caught unawares by having to face the full force of the Hungarian cavalry. The German frontline braced themselves. The Hungarian onslaught was relentless causing early casulties and breaking through on the German left flank. For a time, it seemed that a Hungarian victory was certain, but somehow the German infantry held, and slowly, sheer troop numbers prevailed.

It was an extremely exciting match, probably my favourite of the tournament so far. gg wzfcns!

Kroche (Carthaginian 262-236BC) defeated Deeter (Roman 280-220 BC) 65-39

A close match where the Romans tried to find a weak spot in the Carthaginian line. They did find a weak spot and just before rolling up the Carthaginian right they were decimated by a last ditch attack by two elephant units and were rolled over themselves. GG

Nijis (Han) beat Captainwaltersavage (Xiongnu) 60-37.

This match-up seems really hard for the Xiongnu. The northern horsemen overwhelmed one of the Chinese flanks and the lights got in among them, chopping up artillery crews, and still the scattered infantry were able to turn around and whittle down the nomads with arrows.

LindsayCole: Roman 285-312 AD Armenian 253-476 AD drew with Fluidwill: Scots-Irish 50 BC-476 AD 34-19

The Scots surged onto the open fields banging their shields in defiance of Rome. The Roman's occupied a small fortified farm with a small hill behind that overlooking most of the valley. As the Scots moved forward the Roman cavalry scouted both flanks. The Armenian Armored archer cav, routed light units on his left while Roman cav retired after uncovering his Cavalry and Chariots on his right. The Chariots went after the Armenian cav on his left, and the cav and some infantry went for the tree line on the Roman left that was lightly guarded. As the Scots closed the distance the Roman field batteries rolled onto the heights above the farm and cut loose on the center. The Roman's moved forward to engage with the Sagittariorum now adding their fire into the Scots. Things on the right in the small woods were now turning, the Roman cav rallied while Armenian irregular infantry recaptured the small woods and the Scots right collapsed. Night fell as the Roman's were pushing into the Scottish left. The Chariot's never seemed to get back into the fight after chasing the Armenian cav on his left. A brawl for sure, no way did I want to fight that scot army in those open fields with chariots blasting around, all in all a fantastic game. Thank you for the match. The score was 34-19 in favor of the Roman's as night fell.

PM sent 2/11: scoring match provisionally 4-0, although it may have been a draw a nightfall is mentioned. Update: score was 34-19 at nightfall, match will be scored 2-0, table will be corrected in due course.

devoncop (Parthian 250BC-225AD with Saka Allies beat snooky51 (Sassanid Persian 224-349AD with Kushan allies) by 60% to 43%

In a swirling cavalry encounter on an undulating desert landscape a concentration by the Parthians around a central slope dotted with small wooded areas just managed to take out enough of the Persian lighter forces before the more numerous Persian cataphracts were able to devastate any more of the Parthian forces. A grand tussle only just won by the Parthians before the tide turned.

Thanks to my opponent.
