The Carthaginians spread out wide and at an angle and luckily got the upper hand on the lower left of the map while the pikes were unlucky and didn't drop the units farther north quickly enough. Good game that saw a bit of luck on the Carthaginian side, especially with cohesion drops. Thanks for the game!^^

Division A is still barely moving. I have removed 1 player for slow play, I hope that I don't have to remove any more. At the moment tyronec (Syracusan) and ericdoman1 (Seleucid) are tussling for the top spot and are now 10 points ahead of the others. In Division B dim30 (Syracusan) was consolidating his position at the top of the table very nicely until being beaten in his eighth match by batesmotel (Roman). That defeat now leaves desertedfox (Kyrenean Greek) as favourite to win automatic promotion with batesmotel still having an outside chance of taking the top position. Furious activity in Division C this week has seen DanZanzibar (Samnite) move to the front with newcomer Dreddradish (Kyrenean Greek) in hot pursuit. Both players have won all their matches so far. rexhurley (Sertorius) has also started well with 3 wins from 4 starts. At the bottom games are starting to run out for Garokan (Hannibal in Africa) and he will need at least 1 win from his last 3 matches to have any chance of avoiding the drop. DocVanNostrand (Thracian) has moved to within 4 points of leader Bodhran (Bosporan) in Division D and has 2 games in hand. MarcoCato75 (Roman) has 3 wins from 4 starts and along with Kroche (Carthaginian), who has started with 2 wins from 2 matches, and both players are likely to mount a challenge in the second half of the season. Very interesting in Division E where 4 players are still in with a shout of taking the top place. markleslie (Antigonid) still has a lead of 9 points, but he has just 2 matches left to play and could be caught by 1 from Holien (Hannibal in Africa), sivispacem (Sertorius) or deeter (Gallic). In Division F Rosedelio (Kyrenean Greek) completed a fabulous clean sweep to post a 36 point maximum in his first season. Still plenty to play for though as it is usual for more than 1 player to be promoted from Division F. olddog52 (Spartan) is having a much better second season and needs just 2 points from his last match against opoli51 (Roman) to pip mh5064 (Macedonian) to the runners-up spot. At the bottom, a second win for Real_JT1 (Achaemenid) means that Meroka37 (also Achaemenid) probably needs to win his last 2 matches now to avoid the wooden spoon.

Nosy_Rat (Lombard) and Questar17 (Bosporan) remain well clear of the field with 5 wins apiece in Division A and it is looking unlikely now that anyone else will be able to mount a challenge for the championship. At the bottom desertedfox (Sassanid), SpeedyCM (Jewish Revolt) and Morbio (Roman). In Division B joggy (Germanic Horse Tribes) completed a fabulous clean sweep with his ninth 4 point maximum win. The other players have finally overtaken him and all their points add up to 40. Second and third places could get you promoted from this division this season as a number of players are struggling to get a win in the top division at the moment. So there is still plenty left to play for. Very tight in Division C where the leader Warg1 (Arab City) has lost his last 2 matches, allowing challengers kraff (Visigoth) and Delbruck (Roman) to move closer. Further back both Giacofa93 (Pictish) and sarmation (Armenian) remain unbeaten and could challenge in the second half of the season. Division D is equally wide open with Blagrot (Jewish Revolt) the leader by virtue of the fact that he has not lost a match yet. Also on 12 points are Bodhran (Dacian) and random27 (Ancient British), while sivispacem (Scots-Irish), Aeneas Stator (Parthian) and FireknightBarcelona (Roman) still have 100% records. Badger73 (Palmyran) is the leader in the clubhouse with 24 points in Division E. It is unlikely to be enough to hold off the challenges of all 3 contenders for the top spot, namely Bluefin (Visigoth), Lynx57 (Roman) and Darkwater247 (Germanic Horse Tribes). Incredible week in Division F where Hari72 (Sassanid) was moving along serenely at the top, unbeaten in 8 matches, when he was ambushed and crushed in his last match by challenger shane30 (Palmyran). The situation now is that shane30 needs 13 points from his last 4 matches to overtake Hari72. heidipie (Jewish Revolt) is also still in with a chance and needs 15 points from 4 matches to beat Hari72 and must also hope that shane30 loses another match somewhere. In the battle to avoid the wooden spoon, LindsayCole (Roman) picked up his first point in a narrow defeat and that may be enough to finish above Meroka37 (Dacian).

Giacofa93 (Viking Ireland) has now taken a firm grip on proceedings in Division C after registering his sixth win this week to lead random27 (Navarrese) by 7 points. Nothing new to report in Division A, but Division B has been very busy and has only 3 matches left to be completed. Captainwaltersavage needs just 1 point from his last match against Nijis to win automatic promotion. If he fails to get it then Warg1 will be the outright winner unless BobGanoush can do the double over ray552 and get 8 points. In that case Warg1 and BobGanoush will be tied and both will be promoted. He could be equally close to determine who is relegated, but I will need to wait for the results if ray552 gets 1 more win to get to 16 points. In Division C Holien did the double over Delbruck to take a commanding lead in a very slow division. nothing to report from Division D, while in Division E gamercb must win his remaining 6 matches to get another 24 points, including 2 matches against olddog52, to prevent olddog52 from winning automatic promotion.
