Round 9: The Fall of the Republic

After the assassination of Caesar, Marcus Antonius found himself outmaneuvered by Octavianus. Allying himself with the Senate, Caesar’s young heir fought off his rival in the Northern Italian campaign of 43 BC. He then turned against and defeated the Senate with Marcus Antonius on his side the following year in the Philippi campaign in northern Greece. The two men then ruled jointly until 31 BC, one in the West, one in the East, when Octavianus became sole master of the Roman world.

Antonius’s force faced two consular armies. He ambushed Pansa, routed him but was surprised in turn by Hirtius. The latter’s army is in Antonius’s rear and the Senate player should not forget to move it. The Antonian player should quickly defeat Pansa then turn back to confront Hirtius before he gets to his objective markers. This scenario is played WITH DOUBLE MOVES, no fog of war. First player initiates the challenge.

CILICIAN GATES 39 BC

Quintus Labienus, son of Titus Labienus who fell at Munda, and the Parthians had conquered most the Levantine coast from Antonius. The Roman response was led by Bassus. At the Cilician gates, the Parthian cavalry attacked the Romans uphill without waiting for Labienus’ infantry and was thrown back the slope. The Parthian player should get as many points off the markers as possible before retreating towards the incoming Labienus. No Fog of war, No double moves. First player initiates the challenge.

Is anyone else having problems using FOG at the moment? It's very slow to connect, and to down/upload games, and sometimes I can't connect at all. The Slitherine website also seems very slow.
