Campaign seems to work with latest version of PC.

The rules file in the mod will overwrite the 1.20 rules with the old rules though; you could fix this by replacing the rules in the mod with a copy of the rules from the base game.
Whether the campaign is balanced for the 1.20 rules is another question.

Thanks Prof Chaos, I did meanwhile a little test myself, and found the main problem was with the outdated strings file which messed up mostly those advanced options.

I made a reworked file similar to that of the USMC mod, pls. see attachment. Using this new file with the mod seems to work fine, tested under 1.25. I'd leave in the old rules as the mod was made for those. Of course anyone who prefers 1.20er rules can just copy in another rules file, but this was not intended originally, and I don't know for sure how it affects the campaign.

This mod is amazing. Unit icons are the best. Great style and design.

"Japanese hero pics and additional IJN rank gfx created by alex1960" - is not available.

These were not made by me, but additonally provided by alex1960 after the mod came out. Unfortunately I might have lost the file - but it's not required to play the mod (you just get generic gfx for heros when you call the unit detail window then).

If anyone wants them I have the campaign and the units in an archived graphics file as well as the partially completed Sino-Japanese unit icons from that mod long ago. Also have the DMP Pacific Corps graphics file.
