Excellant, we embark at once. Send scroll to Rex and Agricolae to get on the boat:)
You clearly need no advice on how to beat Gauls (chagrin)

It is not clear to my intelligence agents if the Gauls are high or lowlanders so I urge you to wait for clarification before you invade, if you think it matters
It matters not to me so the forces I have at my disposal will be the ones I fight with .
if I understand the "reforms" 400aps, no allies, must have 3 commanders , other than that no restrictions

Oh by the way Turk, if you are a clone, i'll find out about that too

Training camp report

TGM Ptolemy 24/31
vs
supervark Roans 31/30

despite flanking and catching his slacker legions with lancers, the rest of the legions just hung on and on, and then the roman elites finally got into the fray and it easily have gone the other way the last round or two, cheers for the game!

I am at this momment choosing my troops and feel caution is necassary here before we embark. The Gauls are very capable fighters and very adept at ambushing tactics so good scouts are required here. When i have finished my selection process i shall hasten back to you with my Troops, whom are most eager i might add.

Hail to all

Well I am a man of action, rather than words.
I am becoming old now and so if I was given the opportunity to lead. It may not be long before I pass. Of course those most loyal to me will probably then resume control.
Also I am not too sure about many of the stupid political and economical rules and damn regulations. I would of course be susceptible to suggestions and quite easily swayed over, can I have this, I want that.
Yes I am a leader and a soldier but not a king. I have more money than I know what to do with and have not prepared my will yet so why would I need more.
Personally you would be damn fools to vote me in.
Now where is that elixir of youth.

Hail TGM

I know you will look after yourself on your journey so fight with your usual honour and integrity and come back victorious.

Have supplied you with 3 casks of this beer. I think you will like it.

I ahve included 10 cases of that 84 Carthage wine we really enjoyed. That means I have only got 126 cases left. Sorry what was that oh thank the Gods 1266 cases left. Where has the other 600 gone then?

The Beef Beer Pies are a treat, will supply enough for your forces. Busily working on them as we speak. Added a few more spices to them as well. These are just some gifts.

Remember to find out if you are facing those hilltop/woodland barbarians or the plains fighters. Be wary of your flanks, their cavalry and chariots are quite mobile.

Looking forward to your return. The meal will be on your tab.

Hail Ericus the Smoothtalker

Gratitude for the gifts of beer and beef pies, we'll fit right in with the Gauls. However, isnt that wine from my own warehouses? No matter, 84 was a good year, crucifications were all the rage.

Be careful throwing that 4 letter word around (uh.. 3 in latin) , makes the toga boys uncomfortable...

Turk1964 is not engaged in Bithynia, so TGM can commence the campaign against the Allobroges.

Oh wise senator, I am a simple soldier and your words baffle me

I have sent scrolls(last bunch of posts) that I have already completed 4 out of the 5 training battles and per the senates prior orders i only needed to finish 3 before I can enage the Gauls , as well as to bring the 3 whom completed training ist......

Unfortunalty my army is already in Gaul and are patiently waiting the avatar of the Albogides , TJD, to engage....
Withdrawing would be seen as cowardice in the eys of the Gauls, and think of poor Turk who is so eager to restock his plantations with eager gallic lads? (are still trying to determine if they are high or lowlanders btw)

EDIT: Ah I see the Senators scroll has been edited and its business as usual , Vae Victus!

The decisions of the Senate are not to be questioned. You are advised to subjugate the Allobroges.
We await a glorious victory regardless of the type of troops our foes may array !

Who questioning orders ??, I am here , In Gaul, with only my household troops, with my junk swingin in the breeze because the Senate cant give clear orders. My three supporting generals cant or wont sail to my aid due to the senates bungling ....
I see that you will refuse to tell me more of the nature of these Gauls, yet it is clear that other proconsuls are given preferance in aid and support and the sharing of intelligence, even allowed to refight lost battles as their "enemies" were not to their fancy .... Appears favouritism , nepotism or worse rules the senate floors!

I am in Gaul and will give the senate a victory if able. Dont bother sending scroll as I shall be busy

Whenever I have seen the ALLOBROGES

It reminds me of ALL ABOARD the Skylark?

It was a children's show a long time ago when I was a child

In character

Hail TGM

Well said.

My honour is still intact although a little stained due to lack of correct information from our spy network about my first encounter. Although I could have verified this myself and should have asked certain questions before leaving.

The new wine has nearly fermented. The head of one of my vineyards ( a Britannicus man) was going to name it OLDGIT. Which is a very strange name indeed. Never did like him though. I will name it Latepont with reference to OUR last engagement.

I do hope to rectify this matter as soon as possible and await orders on how I can assist Rome.

With reference to phase 3.2. Has phase 3.1 actually happened?

I know I may be old and my eyesight is troubling me somewhat but have votes been cast already?

They were given orders but they hesitate due to conflicting scrolls. No worry, if I find out they were hesitating for political wrangling Ill have their heads.

Ah yes I can see it now.

Well it looks as if nobody is voting at all.

Therefore senate of Rome. I beseech you, I wish to atone to villify myself from my/our stupid error in Pontus, Pontic. I hereby believe we should call it Pont. Makes it so much easier and of course would help promote my new batch of wines to some extent. Just wondering if my companies have any contacts over there.

If you need me, I am yours.

My swordarm, my body and my blood.

Which reminds me I need to find a few more servants for the next battle. I do hate having blood spilt on Laura (Yes my Lorica Segamanta, I have given her a name) and so they clean it off during the middle of the various battles. Yes Laura, what a wonderful woman, she protects me from blows, keeps me warm in the cold and gives me a great big hard. What do you mean I can not write that. Well I get a bit excited when battle begins (is that bloody well better, bloody political correctiveness drivel). Right I am well angry now, where is that Fedem's chair.

Hail Ericus,

I believe in a men of action like you. That kind of men use to go direct to the point when dealing with problems and such. I think that the Republic is in peril having many problems on our provinces, frontiers and even our own doors. We must end with the revolts in our borders, secure the wheat supplies that are constantly been raided by the pirates; even the streets of Rome are not safe.
So I support the faction of Ericus Domus and for the survival of Rome I urge my fellow Senators to also join us.
Together we can reestablish the Glooooryyyy of our oooolllddd and belooooveddd REEEPUUUBLIIICCCC!!!!

My goodness I am pleasantly surprised.

Well young man, I thank you for your support.

It seems you may have a bit of a problem Glooooryyy and so on. I will get my best physicians to work on you.

But yes your sentiments are wonderful and brings a tear to this old man's eyes.

Will have to invite you over for a meal or two.

Ahh the days of yore when true Romans ruled the senate .

Well, my guess, except for young Fedem-icus, is that the rest of the lot are secretly selling their souls to the other party heads to get the best "deal" baahhh

I have no use for high nosed blue bloods, false friends of the "people" nor the nova rich ( no better than strumped up equites imho)

I'll throw my lot in with the Republicans , and their crusty old leader who will clean house, or die trying ( bty Ericus, are you truly a veteren of the IST Punic war??)
