Thank you :)

Next is UK, which has only 3 strat bombers if I see that right. Shouldn't take too long either...

Completing Sov will take a bit though. Could be I deal with some non-vanilla requests in between from time to time because it makes stuff less boring... :)

Just a little update: making progress with Sov fighters, but there's still work to do. Found some Soviet planes in 3d for free (La-5, Il-2), have to model bombers still myself. Testing fighter camo schemes right now:

Still, next release will probably be some stuff for minors in a couple of days, most importantly the Belgian CR 42 still lacking for vanilla, plus one or two other aircraft I got requests for. Then back to the red air force. :)

Very nice preview! I'm extremely curious about the Belgian CR.42 :)

The light green-dark green scheme that you have was also used, mostly on reconnaissance biplanes, U-2 and R-Z and such.

And there was the solid green color too.

Thank you. Though the prob with color profiles is that there is lots of variation (I often look at the collection at the wings palette side and pick one I like), even pics supposed to show the same plane look often rather different when you compare profiles from several different sources. It's no wonder though since in absence of the original aircraft many are reconstructions - in other words more or less plausible guesses.

I think I'll rework the Mig3/Lagg3 a bit, but I don't think I'll use those IL-2/Pe-2 green/red-brown/greyish profiles - IMO these don't look so good, and there are enough alternatives out there.

I know about the color variation, these are not intended to represent profiles of particular aircraft, but rather official painting guides for applying cammo.

In the field the exact color shades differed from batch to batch and depending on what paints were available at the moment. But as a general guideline i believe these are good.

As you see there were three main color schemes - the early with bright green (almost fluorescent, quite garish looking color) and dark brown. Next this was replaced with darker, more pleasant to the eyes shade of green and the brown became almost black. And finally there is the two shades of grey late war cammo.

Early ground attack and bomber aircraft had been either solid green or had a green-brown cammo, later they also added a variety of three-color camouflage patterns.

The two shades of green cammo was mostly used on biplanes.

Well, those Soviet planes are still to paint. I'll post another preview later ... ;)

Now first the minor stuff mentioned earlier - the only vanilla replacement in here is the Belgian CR.42.

Goodies for modders are are Re. for Hungary and a IAR 80 for Romania for which I had requests.

Excellent work Bernd! It is always good to see some actual custom units that blend in perfectly with the gamestuff.
I'm sure others will agree that all the planes you did sofar, are alot better than the vanilla ones.
I feel the need to place my Belgium scenario full of belgian CR.42's ;).
Thank you very much!
