Vicious battle, with the Arab conquest starting on the far side of a hill. The Byzantine pressed to get a toe hold with varangians, only to halfway realize that maybe this was pressing the luck a little thick; that why would anyone in their right mind attempt to take a hill with vanguards composed of skutatoi? The slog began, and to my luck the flanks began to give slight way enough to bring in cav for flank charges of opportunity. After successfully pulling varangians off the hill and to the center low ground, fighting at the southern corner with dutiful troops who had to be sacrificed in order to bleed the enemy; did a final strike come with tagmatic cavalry coming in from the left to clear the hill. The crows are the winners.

Very tenacious spearmen held out while very effective shooting kept Danish Men at Arms at bay. Eventually Danish numbers were sufficient to flank Pikes and get behind Keils but touch and go.

Very tight battle - a hill allowed poorer sheildwall units to hold back veteran dialami while veteran muslim spears and dismounted armoured cavalry eventually went toe to toe. Difference was the veteran spears were subject to more missile fire attrition as they fell back to refuse an open flank and four Arab cavalry units could not protect the spears open flank from seven German and Polish mounted units. Good game thanks.

The Swiss centre was fast enough in defeating the Imperial infantry to turn to the assistance of the weaker flanks before my foe's superior cavalry could encircle me. Well-played.

Div D

Janohito using Assyrians with Egyptian Allies defeated phlewis who did take Antigonid 320-301BC army list. Final score 60-48.

Center of the map had two rough ground patches that limited frontage for pikeman. Assyrian medium infantry rushed to rough ground where they were met by thureophoroi. Pikeman got blocked and shot constantly by Assyrian heavy chariots. While flanking battle between cavalry forces turned out to be in Antogonid favor, center caved and allowed for Assyrians to flank Antigonid right flank just before their cavalry could return and strike vulnerable Assyrian rear.
