Pool B Group 2
Blagrot (Roman 280-220 BC) beat Tratmot (Carthaginian 262-236 BC) 61%-50%
17 turns of slaughter, despite the best efforts of some elusive cavalry and very stubborn elephants the legions eventually did their thing and ground down the carthaginian army. The other game is going even longer and will have an even more brutal death toll.

Division D
Blagrot - Berber (Murabit) 1087-1147 AD beat CaptainPunka - German (Imperial) 1200-1319 AD 45% - 20%
A grindy game with the map split by a river and narrowed by forests, a chunk of the german army was trapped chasing cavalry and camels while being whittled by shooting and repeated charges on the right. On the left some Berber light cav snuck around to launch repeated rear charges on German units and a low hll in the middle gave the arab spears a narrow advantage, a lot lof little things slowly coming together for the win. Thanks for the game and chat.

by Kerait
Division D
Kerait (Beidi) defeated Kroche (Zhou) 53-27
The Beidi tribes suffered horrendous casualties slowly and painfully tearing down the Zhou line in what can only be described as a general human wave attack. Zhou chariots caused great problems as they were essentially un-chargeable, and Zhou archers in the forests blunted the impact of the Beidi horse archers. Zhou fought admirably, but I daresay larger Beidi numbers and the advantage of tribal spearmen as 100% swordsmen against 50% swordsmen Zhou mixed infantry won out in the end. Well played to Kroche for making the offensive so difficult.

Division C
Warg1 - German 933-1049 AD with Polish 966-1057 AD allies (1200) defeats Morat - Frankish 751-857 AD with Viking 790-879 AD allies (1200) 64 - 49
A comeback Lazarus would have been proud of. Morat deserved a point out of this. Some great tactical play from my opponent early on had me in a pickle and the fat lady was reaching for her song sheet. Not really sure how I pulled it back except my superior armoured spearman will probably be auditioning for the next Marvel movie.

Terrain played a key role in what came down to an Infantry battle, Cavalry tried to envelop but the battle was lost in the center on a large plateau. Thanks, Mark!

Can you explain at all how the map type is chosen according to the two opposing armies ?
I think there is some sort of preference that each army will have for a particular map, is it possible to look up somewhere what that preference is. Have looked in the game folder and I don't see how I can look it up ?
Also, some armies seem to get their default terrain more often than others. So for example every game that I have seen with Jewish Revolt playing there has always been at least a moderate amount of terrain. Is that the case or is it just 50/50 as to which army gets their 'normal' type of terrain ?
