You could replace the Vandals match with a Norman conquest match
Arab(North Africa) 1000-1160 v Norman 923-1040

Hi Pete. Just wondering if you could increase the size of armies in Classical. That is including Assyrians, Medians, Babylonians, Egyptians and Hebrew for example and or armies that fit into the 600 BC to 0 slot. Might be worth having a poll or something similar.

Do you mean I should add the later Biblical armies (those that are partly more recent than 600BC) to the Classical Antiquity army list just for Season 12, while Biblical is rested for one season?
Biblical Army list
Achaemenid Persians 550-546 BC
Achaemenid Persians (Thymbra) 547 BC
Achaemenid Persians 545-481 BC
Arab 1000-313 BC
Assyrian 681-609 BC
Babylonian 626-539 BC
Babylonian Revolt 522-482 BC
Cimmerian 760-600 BC
Cypriot 680-550 BC
Egyptian 664-571 BC
Egyptian 570-525 BC
Elamite 815-539 BC
Hebrew 681-586 BC
Kushite Egyptian 727-656 BC
Libyan 549-301 BC
Lydian 687-551 BC
Mannaean 750-610 BC
Median 836-627 BC
Median 626-550 BC
Phoenician 681-539 BC
Skythian 750-551 BC
Skythian/Saka 550-301 BC
Thracian (Triballi) 700-351 BC
Thracian 680-461 BC
Thracian (Getae) 680-330 BC
Urartian 681-585 BC
I have underlined all the ones it could apply to. It is about 75% of the total. I am not opposed to doing this for just Season 12.

Silk road.
Just looking at the armies available I think the division would be more appealing if players were free to use any army that had not already been picked, so no restrictions like 'only one Qiang army'.
Also you could maybe allow other Eastern armies such as Indian or Steppe, though not sure if this would be a good idea or not. I expect an Elephant heard would be XBowed to bits !

This might affect people who don't have the required DLCs for those earlier armies. If it doesn't then I think it's a good idea.

Be fun to be able to use some Biblical armies in Classical. I like the idea.

How to access the Silk Road Mod v1.7 . . .

We will be using the Silk Road Mod in Season 12 instead of the Biblical armies.
"You can download the mod directly from the game, clicking on the “Download community scenarios” button in the upper left side of the Main Menu, Epic Battles or Campaigns screen. To play it, you must select the module “The Silk Road” in the Custom Battles/Campaigns/MP Challenge Skirmish area. (Not the Epic Battles area)."

Here is an initial list of historical match-ups we could use. There are 6 of them and I only need 5 so 1 will have to be discarded (maybe the 3 Kingdoms civil war match up).
Chinese (Zhou) 1046-701 BC versus Beidi 1046-701 BC
Chinese (Han) 206-100 BC versus Xiongnu 200 BC -155 AD
Chinese 3 Kingdoms (Wei) 220-265 AD versus Chinese 3 Kingdoms (Shu) 221-263 AD
Chinese 3 Kingdoms (Wu) 222-280 AD versus Chinese (Jin) 266-316 AD
Chinese (Jin) 317-420 AD v Sixteen Kingdoms 304-439 AD
Chinese (Sui) 582-617 AD v Chinese (Chen) 557-589 AD
(first posted on 30/6)
If there are any other Silk Road match-ups that you want me to look at please post them in this thread. We will not be using armies from outside the Mod in this section.

Sorry, missed this post first time round. The Silk Road mod section will be using historical match-ups, not player-selected armies in Season 12.

I will be doing a poll from about 10/9 to choose which theme we will have for Season 12.
Will this poll be about which actual battles to keep/remove in the
Sicilian Cauldron? Or about which overall theme to apply for the
Themed Event of
Season 12?

Yes, that's a good idea. Maybe then (7) ought to go? To get maximum army list variety between the five battles. But then, on the other hand, maybe (6) is the least specific for Sicilian theme and therefore is the one to be removed?
2) Peloponnesian War 431-404BC
Syracusan 412-281BC v Greek 460-281BC
3) Pyrrhic 280-275BC with Syracusan 280-211BC allies v Carthaginian 280-263BC
4) War between Sextus Pompey and the Second Triumvirate 42-36BC
Roman 105-25BC v Roman 105-25BC
6) Gothic War 535-554AD
Byzantine 493-550AD v Ostrogoth 493-561AD
7) Muslim Conquest of Sicily 827-902AD
Byzantine 740-903AD v Arab Abbasid 836-873AD
8) Norman conquest of Sicily
Arab(North Africa) 1000-1160 v Norman 923-1040
