Many thanks for your support.
I make offset-config with the DCS-tool.

Hi Anduril: Thanks for dropping by. I discovered the animation test tool in the DCS not much time ago...
But as old habits die hard, I still stick to make customized animation files the old-fashioned way...

The latest version of "my" Bf-109E. The pack includes the base icon, mask and the whole bunch of icons in several color schemes. I decided to rework it, because the previous version did not look right to me...
Enjoy!

Great work! Quick question, I downloaded DCS and it works really well. But mine only has the German units, I would like to work on some Japanese, Soviet and US vehicles too, especially for the Pacific Campaigns I am working on. I have Photoshop, and I am not sure how to create a mask for a unit in that. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Anduril: I have found and re-started working on my 3,7 cm Flakzwilling 43 AA gun files... We all be seeing news about that interesting unit soon... I still have to work on shadows and make the masks for the DCS. Anyway, here is a quick preview of one of the base icons...

In the meantime, here is an early war railroad artillery unit for the Germans: the 17 cm Kanone (E). I made it for my "custom" Westerplatte scenario, which included a 80 cm Dora railroad gun, but I felt that I had to replace that gun, because, historically, it was not available till last months of 1941 or may be early 1942... I also included a custom-made firing animation, and you can rename the audio sfx file from the 15cm sFH 18 to go with it. Happy shelling!
UPDATED: Improved icon, now with coastal gun switch, also, the two firing animations.

In fact, I wanted to make a unit from these photos... But, in fact, I grossly oversized the gun... Back to the drawing board!

I like both versions, very nice! Out of curiosity, when did the 17cm K18(E) become available to the Germans? Do you have any idea?

Hello cw58! According to wikipedia, only six units were produced in 1938, using old gun barrels from the secondary battery of the Deutschland-class pre-dreadnought battleships. The authorities realized that this model was too little gun for such a massive carriage (it weighted 80 tons) and stopped producing them. They were not made in large numbers, nor were excellent weapons, but those and their little brothers, the 15 cm K(E), were indeed in service by the time when the Second World War started, which was not the case with the railroad guns included in the equipment file of the vanilla game (the 28 cm K5(E) and the gigantic 80 cm Dora).

Thank you very much for the info and the quick reply. I'll probably be tweaking my e-file as well
